Title: Thanksgiving Plans
Post by: Localonthe8s on November 23, 2008, 09:43:40 PM
What do you guys have planned for thanksgiving? Plan to visit family anywhere? As for me, i'm just gonna stay home and eat a small turkey with my family. I like Thanksgiving, everyone is together that day. I'm gonna have a turkey with apple pie, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and applie cider.

My grandparents' new house down at the NJ shore was completed back in September, so I'll be going down there.

My grandma is flying in tomorrow. We were going to have my aunt and uncle, and cousin over, but my aunt is too sick. So its just the five of us. Hopefully my mom's oven won't kick off, otherwise we'll be having Chinese carry-out.

Sorry to hear that your aunt is so sick. What's wrong with her?

I can't remember if i posted this before, but she has VERY serious cancer in many places. It started in her lung, due to 30 years of smoking. I think its called Stage 4 or something, which is the most serious kind of cancer.

My mom's mom had the exact same kind of cancer. Actually the situation is almost exactly the same as what happened to my mom's mom in the early 80's. :hmm:

Okay, I need to slow down reading...I thought Gil said "Hopefully my aunt wont kick-off, otherwise we'll be having Chinese carry-out".  Then with Gary's post referencing "aunt being sick"...

No plans really for me. Its just going to be my Mom and I this time.  Were really down about my Dad passing away and decided just to have our own little meal and time to ourselves for a change.

what day is Thanksgiving?

Many many moons ago the Babylonians created this thing called a calendar. It's very useful in determining the date of a day.

My grandma (who's coming today) is the only grandparent that's ever been alive when I was born. She's 88!

The purpose of the joke was to get a point across, not to be technical.  :D

These are my last living grandparents. And for the most part, they are healthy, and I am thankful for that.

Every1 have a great thanksgiving!

Went over to my grandmother's house this evening for Thanksgiving dinner; had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, potato salad, a roll, tea, and pumpkin pie for dessert. B)

Me neither, I just had a plate and a half of food (not eating 5+ plates like other people had). I'm at my grandparents brand new house in Sea Isle City, NJ right now. It's deserted here this time of year! I took a walk along the boardwalk and it was neat seeing nobody there and all of the stores and condos shuttered.

That's nice! Sea Isle is a cool place,  I went there in September.
