This is a NEW disease
The flu is not a disease. No matter what the "type".

and I am sure more and more doctors are learning something new about it every day.
Sure about that?
Yes it is, and yes.

Well here's one. Well I thought most people think the American media overhypes things. At least in my school during lunch we always talk about how the news handles things.http://blogs.usatoday.com/oped/2009/05/swine-flu-be-ready-but-dont-overreact.html

And I saw Alex's post. :whistling:

"Swine flu: Be ready, but don't overreact"

Sound advice

Influenza is a virus, not a disease.

As to whether they will cure it, that could spark a whole other debate.

Well, here's the dictionary definition:

http://dictionary.reference.com/dic?q=disease&search=search

Seems to me the flu would be a disease.

You guys just don't seem to get, no matter how hard we drill it into your thick skulls, that WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS VIRUS AND ARE LEARNING EACH DAY. Its great that they think its not as potent as once thought, but until now WE DIDN'T KNOW THAT.

Its not that I don't agree with you.. The virus is a threat since we dont know much about it. I'm just irritated over how the information is being told to the public

My thought exactly.  What do you want them to say?  I really don't think the media has over-done their coverage.  But I would agree that the media might have caused some kind of panic.

Well, if they WITHHELD information about it, it would become an evil Eugenics plot to "kill the weak and racially inferior" in the minds of some, for all we know.
