It said she was at a petting zoo near pigs, is it really spreading from pigs to human that much?  In San Antonio, it very well could have spread human to human.

san antonio has had no reporting of a case of swine flu...so i don't think you know what you're talking about.

now surrounding counties - well one has confirmed 3 cases, but not in san antonio.

Well putting it like that was a little unnecessary. So there aren't any cases in San Antonio, at least confirmed.  There may have been other places she has gotten it as well, and maybe she did indeed  get it from the pigs.  However, if that's the case, I'd think other cases around San Antonio will start being confirmed, unless she's the only one who has visited the petting zoo.

Okay, what do you mean I don't know what I am talking about? I don't know that much about this, but most people know how it can spread. Allow me to make myself clear, I DID NOT say there were any cases in San Antonio. I was implying that the woman contracted the swine flu in San Antonio and could have happened either way.

haha. i wasn't even talking to you...

i'm just saying...there are not any CONFIRMED cases in san antonio, and honestly don't even know how you got san antonio involved..which is probably a critical error on my part :P

Well, there is one person in my area now that was tested today for H1N1 Virus (Swine Flu) because she was showing Flu symptoms. The person was on vacation in the Caribbean (Not sure where) three weeks ago for spring break. The doctors are not expecting it to be H1N1 because it's been three weeks since she was on vacation.

EDIT: The girl that was tested today is in Springboro and she went Cancun for vacation...

ABC is even interrupting normal programming over this swine flu. Tens of thousands of people die from the flu every year. The swine flu isn't anything different other than that it originally came from pigs.

Excuse me but if this was some killer strain like (1917?) I would be worried but if you go to the doctor take antivirals your good to go.

In Georgia there's a case that's being evaluated in Troup county which is southwest of Atlanta in a town called LaGrange,Ga. It's not official if this person is indeed sick from the Swine Flu yet, but if they are it will be the first case of Swine Flu here.

There are now 6 "probable", though not yet confirmed cases here in Maryland. They all have some connection to Mexico. So at least these aren't totally random cases.

Well, cases will eventually become random as, believe it or not, not EVERYONE is educated about the virus. It will spread from human to human quickly. Anyway, there are also several probable cases right here in Ingham County! I would imagine it will also get bad in Detroit, Flint, and Grand Rapids as well.

A Michigan Swine Flu Update, from The Detroit News at det.com:
Quote
The Michigan Joint Information Center confirmed one case of swine flu, claiming the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention erred by posting two confirmed cases.

"Two specimens were tested from the Livingston County woman," state spokesman Terry Stanton said.

The Livingston County woman, 34, was treated at an Urgent Care facility in Brighton on Saturday after returning home from a vacation in Texas, near the Mexican border. The Influenza A (H1N1) virus has killed more than 150 in Mexico.

She is at home recuperating, officials said.

A second "probable" case involving an Ottawa County woman is pending analysis at the CDC. The case was reported Tuesday. It could take 24-48 hours for the lab results to be confirmed, Stanton said.

On Monday, the state partially activated its Emergency Operations Center and Joint Information Center in Lansing to collaborate response to any swine flu cases as the outbreak is expected to spread.

I live in California, and my parents said the other day I shouldn't go to school because they think I'll get infected with the swine flu, (which none of the people in my school had as of now), but the thing is that it is likely that it will be spread to the San Francisco Bay Area, and there is a high chance that some of us will get in contact with it. Basically all I can say for now is that the swine flu is deadly and serious. I heard this from a few other people from school. There are many Mexicans in our school and as Gil said, we must be careful who we're interacting with, but I'd have to disagree, because if that person doesn't have swine flu, it's ok to interact with him, but don't get TOO close to that person. As of now I can trace this flu from where its origin is from. This is a guess, but I can be wrong though. The pig had a common cold and the farmers got in contact with the cold and the disease got deadly, and then the farmer came in contact with other people, and then the people from that point spread this flu onto other people.

Another thing, just now I found out that some people from schools in Pittsburg/Bay Point/Contra Costa County got affected with this flu, and schools are closing for the rest of this week + next week, which means that the swine flu is getting worse and worser. I go to a Charter School in Hayward, CA, and there's no reported cases in the Hayward Unified School District (which my school isn't a part of) and as of now, our teachers (Mr. Fauteux, Ms. Farrand, Ms. Crocker) are giving us hand sanitizer so we can cleanse our hands so that we don't get in contact with the swine flu. What I'm doing everyday before going to school is taking a shower so that I can get my good hygeine on, so that I have a less likely chance of catching the flu.

Guys......WASH YOUR HANDS!!!!!!!!!! Protect yourself from this flu, and try not to get TOO close to others, who may have the flu, or when you're interacting with them
