Oh god I HATE that song! I hear people whistle that song and it annoys me all the time. :glare:
I also hate rap music and most depressing songs.
-
I also hate rap music and most depressing songs.
I too dislike rap and many depressing songs. IMO, rap shouldn't even be considered music.
-
I hate rap. It drives me nuts. I alsohate most hip hop songs. I only like depressing hip hop songs.
Can't stand country, most cheery and uplifting songs, and rock

First you said you hate cheery songs, then you said you like them, now you dislike them again?
You also like Pink Floyd. That's rock. ;)
-
I thought Pink Floyd was metal  Anyways I like his music
I never said I liked cheery songs. If i did, I must've been on some sort of drug
-
What's the difference between rock and metal?
You also said in the Songs You Love to Love Thread that you loved Red Hot Chili Peppers and My Chemical Romance. Those are rock too. ;)
-
Yes I like those bands too. I didn;t know they were rock. I guess I like rock then.
-
What's the difference between rock and metal?
I think metal is more of a heavier rock.
-

Its still rock, right? ;)

There are many genres of rock:
Avant-Garde Rock/Progressive Rock
Alternative Rock
Christian Rock
Hard Rock
Hardcore Punk
Heavy Metal
Death Metal (that sub-genre I despise)
New School Punk
Old School Punk
Pop-Rock
Powerpop
Rap-Rock
Southern Rock
etc, etc, etc...

My point (which no one seems to get) is that it ALL falls under the heading of rock.
-
Speaking of Death Metal, another "animated" group Dethklok (from the Adult Swim show "Metalocalypse") has released The Dethalbum. I turned my nose up at it after hearing the first few seconds of a 30 second sample.
-
Another artisto add to the Awesomely Bad list is Underground Hardcore Rap artist Mickey Avalon (hear "My D***" for example).
-
Songs I love to Hate, eh?
That stupid vonage commercial theme
that other annoying commercial 877-CASH-NOW theme song opera crap  I hate opera. Yecch. But its not as bad as my next listing:
Any Rap and Hip hop song. Hostile music, largely responsible for the deliqunecy of America's youth. ALL of it is Garbage. Would never pay for that :censored:
-100% any Latin/spanish/Afro Cuban old school salsa, Puerto rican reggae or other Latin pop. All of it is PURE GARBAGE!. Puke.
- That milkshake song, whoever sings it (annoying)
-anything by Britney (the hoar) Spears
-anything by Paris Hilton
-anything by Lindsay Lohan
-That "Cheatin song by Carrie Underwood
-anything by any other Fem-Nit diva who does not know the meaning of "responsibility" and "accountability". Maybe those words are too long for the aforementioned divas bimbo bimbettes to spell let alone comprehend
-any gospel songs.....those voiceovers are very tacky as well
-any song (regardless of genre) that has heavy cussing....cussing is not music....
- any sappy boohoo Kleenex moment songs. Spare me the drama. Nobody cares who you want back, or whether your woman and your truck were taken by another man, or whether he cheated on you with the other woman. Get over it
I think thats it
-
Any Rap and Hip hop song. Hostile music, largely responsible for the deliqunecy of America's youth. Most of it is Garbage. Would never pay for that :censored:
And most parents don't even know their kids are listening to it. Seriously, I do blame that music for what's wrong with today's kids. Scary to think what society will be like in 25-30 years...
-
Pocket Full Of Sunshine- Natasha Bettingfield
Bleeding Love- Leona Lewis
ANYTHING by Calby Colay (sp?)
-
yeah, tell me about it
i don't even listen to all of that cussing and rapping.
I'm kind of like a smooth jazz and smooth R&B kind of person.
-
Another one to add to this list:
"I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry
-

Haha..I think that songs hilarious. But, it is overplayed, and VERY annoying.

Oh good golly! It took a dozen punk rock songs to get that outta my head
- That milkshake song, whoever sings it (annoying)
Kelis sings that and yeah, I agree with you on that aspect
Any Rap and Hip hop song. Hostile music, largely responsible for the deliqunecy of America's youth. Most of it is Garbage. Would never pay for that :censored:
That's why I'm leaning into more of old school and alternative rap stuff from Black Eyed Peas, Will Smith, etc.
-

So what do you like....
-
I like most rock music from the 60s to the 80s. My favorite artist is Beck. Some of the bands I like are Coldplay, Radiohead, Kaiser Chiefs, Death Cab for Cutie, and many independent rock groups.
-
Apparently young Kyle didn't realize that there is music other than rap, Disney and Emo. :P

You probably have. If you've listened to the radio, you almost certainly have. It sounds like rock, but is sung by prepubescent sounding guys in an almost whiney tone. :sing:
-
I don't have specifics. All I know is that 99% of the music today is trash especially by Christina "I'm a Tranny Clown" Aguilera.
-
Yeah, today's music is terrible
-
Maoinstream music is terrible! But if you look hard enough, you may hear independent artists putting their heart and soul into their work and producing fine music.
-
Wow, I'm surprised to find this topic near the end of the subforum...
Train - Hey Soul Sister :hammer:
-
Anything from Mexicano/Spanish, singing in jazz (I hate singing in jazz music), Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift.
-

Thank goodness someone else finds this song godawful.
Currently, I can't stand Lady GaGa songs.

What's wrong with rap? :dunno: The rap nowadays, I admit is pretty bad. But rap from the 80s till about 2000 was at its best. The true legends of the rap/hip-hop genre are Tupac, Biggie, Nas, LL Cool J, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Run DMC, Public Enemy, Rakim, KRS-One, Slick Rick, A Tribe Called Quest, etc.
-
that was 2 years...well before i knew that
-
Most of the garbage produced in the new millennium I hate... especially Justin Bieber, Lady GaGa, The Jonas Brothers, and forbid me not, Hannah Montana

Uh, everything. :P First of all, it's not music. Music requires a melody and I've never heard a rap song with a melody. Then there's all the lyrics about hating white people and cops, exploiting women, and glamorizing violence. Sure, not ALL rappers are like that. But a lot of them are.
And I agree others that "Hey Soul Sister" is awful. In fact, anything by Train is terrible.

Couldn't have said it better then both of you
-
I pretty much listen to almost anything except heavy metal, screamo, rap, tween music, and a little bit of country. If I hear a Miley Cyrus or a Justin Bieber song, I'll shoot the stereo. <_<
Oh, and don't be hatin on Lady Gaga or Ke$ha. I MUST have the volume up to 100 every time one of their songs play on the radio. :P
-
There are so many other bands I can't stand, including Brokencyde and The Insane Clown Posse. The folks at Hot Topic seem to love it.

Rap is not all about hating White people and the cops. That era passed by years ago, and only a handful of groups and artists talked about that sutff. Plus, most of it was social commentary on the plight of Blacks in the "hood", and on the street. Rap is a unique and beautiful art form that unfortunately has been dilluted over the past 10 to 15 years. Again, you need to listen to rap from "back in the day." Basically, anything up until maybe 2000.
-

Of course they love it... since no one else does (at least, that's whats in my book) :bleh:
-
I hate rap, hip hop, and heavy metal.
-
Rap, hip hop, screamo, modern-day pop, you name it
-

I agree with screamo. I cannot STAND it!
One really good rap song right now is "Like the Way You Lie" by Eminem featuring Rihanna.
-
couple more things i forgot:
anything from Country (no one listen to this crap. :footinmouth:)
Heavy metal(too loud) and Rock (ruins the music on lot8s)
Pop (bleh)
Big Time Rush (AKA Big Time Crap) I don't get the name of band. Does it has to do with time or rush? Their songs get on my nerves every I watched Nicktoons (late at night, same thing as Miranda Crosgrove, another horrible music artist)
-
anything from Country (no one listen to this crap. :footinmouth:)
Hate to burst your bubble, but lots of people listen to country.

You got that right. I can tolerate country, and the concerts are fun to go to. However, the only time I listen to country music is with other people; I wouldn't listen to it myself. I have zero country songs on my ipod.
-

If no one listened to country, why would there be country?
-
Hate to burst your bubble, but lots of people listen to country.
I dig Country as a change of pace, but I really can't listen to it exclusively. I have several Country songs and CDs in my collection.
They were making fun of that Katy Perry "California Girls" song on the radio the other day. The host was having trouble reading the lyrics because he was laughing so hard. :rofl2:

I've recently heard parody's of this song. "Iowa Gurls" and "Colorado Girls" :P
-
Yet another thing I hate I forgot: Kesha. I found her overrated (same thing as justin :censored:er) and I never care about her music at all.
-

She is my weakness. They are great ones to jog to. :P WIERD! I know.. don't judge.

The only country music I really like are some of the Allman Brothers songs featured on TWC.

I love smooth jazz, jazz, soft rock, and newage (mainly twc music) :P. I HATE rap, hip-hop, heavy metal, that crap :hammer:

Here's a few more to add to the list:
- Anything by Justin Bieber
- "Wicked Games" by The Weeknd
- "Bandz A Make Her Dance" by Juicy J (What the heck does "Bandz A Make Her Dance" mean?!?!?!)
-
After listening to a month of Christmas music at work, I'll have to add that to the list now :P
-
Oh, almost forgot another entry: anything from auto-tuned rapper Future (known for his song "Tony Montana").
I heard he just signed to 'I Wish I Was Deaf' Jam.
-
I don't know if homemade music videos count, but if they do, count this one from rapper R.A.E.D. titled as "No Way". Saw it on a rerun of "Web Soup" moments ago.
NO WAY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me0nsP_s7Rs#)
I gotta give that dude credit for putting it all together, because that earned him a recording contract with 'I Wish I Was Deaf' Jam. (Props go out to former "Web Soup" host "Chris Hardwick" for that last part)
-
Rap music is garbage. I don't know why people love to feed that stuff into their ears. I see no novelty in lyrics that talk about junk (however I'll say eminem is an exception)
-

People like rap music for all kinds of reasons like my mom likes listening to the beats of a lot of rap songs. She doesn't really give a crap about the lyrics sometimes. I'm the same way.
I heard that Lady Gaga song yesterday on TWC and I couldn't get it out of my damn head! That's a song I love to hate. :wall:
-
Rap music is garbage. I don't know why people love to feed that stuff into their ears. I see no novelty in lyrics that talk about junk (however I'll say eminem is an exception)
Agreed. Same with hip hop. I couldn't care less if it has a "good beat." If I can't relate to the lyrics, I'm not listening. I have a hard time relating to telling b****es and hoes to "give it up" and then "get outta the way." I couldn't care less if they're not talking about me. It's still offensive.
Speaking of "they're not talking about me..." I'm sorry, but that's the dumbest excuse I've ever heard for the horrible things rappers say about women in their songs. If you don't care what men say about women that's one thing, but don't tell me your pro woman, but then give rap and hip hop a free pass.
Since I like beats, but hate sleazy lyrics, I love listening to New Jack Swing, a style of R&B that was popular in the late 80s and early 90s. It mixed hip hop beats with traditional R&B. Sadly, it died out in the 90s with the rising popularity of whiny alternative music.
-
Another song to add to the "I Love to Hate" list:
"Who Booty" by John Hart :club:
-
Another song that made this list is A$AP Rocky's ":censored:'in Problems", At first when this popped up, I was thinking it's probably another rap song about beef between rappers. Come to find out when I was station surfing, it deals with an addiction to sexy women (I'm just gonna leave it at that).
Part of me wants to like it because of the dope beat it has on there, but a part of me already hates it due to the obvious lyrical content.
-
"Reach Out I'll Be There" by the Four Tops. I can't stand their singing, they sound drunk
-

I actually like their version of "Baby I Need Your Lovin'".
Anyways, another song to add: "Stompa" by Serena Ryder (Heard it on my local Adult Alternative stations). I mean seriously..."Clappa your hands, Stompa your feet"? Might as well "Pounda your head". :club:
-

Really? I happen to like that one! To each his own, though.
-
The Four Tops - Bernadette, I Can't Help Myself
The Beatles - Homecoming Queen
Rolling Stones - Satisfaction
Little Eva - Locomotion
The Drifters - Under the Boardwalk
The Mamas & The Papas: California Dreamin'
And a bunch of other 60s stuff I can't recall off the top of my head.
And it's even worse when old people sing along to these songs right in front of me at work. <_<

All songs I like haha.
But I listen to every generation of music, there are no songs that I truly hate.
-

Bernadette? Never heard that version. I like the Four Tops, along with a lot of other R&B and Soul songs from the 60s. The hippie stuff (Beatles, Mamas and Pappas, etc) I can definitely do without.
-
But I listen to every generation of music, there are no songs that I truly hate.
This. I listen to a wide variety too, and I can hear a '50s tune followed by a smooth jazz instrumental followed by a pop song released last year without batting an eye. I tend to draw my preferences on genre lines rather than generation lines. The only major genres I really don't do are hard rock and rap.
With that being said, I can't think of any song off the top of my head that I hate, even though I do have favorites.
-
A few more songs I dont like (in addition to my old post from 2008)
anything by Justin Bieber
gang style something or other by Psy (he also called for the death of American military and their family)
anything else on mainstream radio that I missed (jazz is all but completely gone on mainstream radio)
TWC LF's post 2011 (next thing they'll do is air rap/hip hop with bleeped out vocals)
-
Anything by "Pitbull"
-
Another song i absolutely LOATHE - That "girls wanna have fun" song from the 80s...That :nono: :censored: song promotes degenerate behavior and irresponsibility, and songs like that are part of the reason why America is on a slippery slope to hell in a handbasket  :footinmouth:
-
A Whiter Shade Of Pale - Procol Harum
Too depressing. Who can listen to this song without bringing back bad memories from their life. Highly doubt it.
-
"Acapella" by Karmin (featured on the blinding Sony Bluetooth Speaker commercial)
Sony BTX300 Portable Bluetooth Speaker TV Commercial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bkc45yIaWNM#ws)
First off, if she's doing it "solo", that does NOT mean "a capella". Second of all, "A Capella" means singing without instrumental sound.
-
"All About That Bass" still annoys the crap out of me.
