I don't really play video games much anymore (except with friends and family and a lot of those games are family/multiplayer oriented) on an old Wii that's just sittin' around collecting a mountain of dust.

It's kinda funny, when I was younger I was begging for a PS2  and I got a Gamecube because it was cheaper. I begged for a XBOX 360 and I got a Wii again because it was cheaper. Now it's 2012 and ironically both the 360 and PS3 are cheaper than the Wii. D'oh!

I still have my old Gameboy SP where I play some of my old games once in a blue moon when I want to take a trip down good memories.

I have several PS3, PS2, and PS1 games.  No Wii.  I find myself buying more vintage games than new ones lately.

Back in the day I had an Atari 2600 and an Atari Jaguar, and I'm quite familiar with NES and SNES.

These days, though, practically the only video game (well, computer game) I play is "Civilization V," though I do have emulators on my computer for both the 2600 and SNES.

I still have an old PS One console with at least 2 dozen game discs (which I use from time to time.) I also have an old Super NES console in my closet with two games (I gave away most of my SNES games to my oldest nephew who also has a Super NES at his house along with an XBOX 360 and a Wii console.)

I own several older gaming consoles and portable gaming devices, mainly from Nintendo. One of them I do own is an NES-101, which is a lesser-known and more compact design of the original Nintendo Entertainment System. It no longer works for now though because the power cord that came with it got shorted out. :(

Don't play much video games anymore but here's what I currently own:

Gamecube (won at a bowling league in 2002)
Xbox (bought 2005)
Xbox 360 Elite (2008)
Wii (2008)
GBA SP cobalt (2003)

In the past I've owned the original Playstation, an NES, and a few older game boys. I use my 360 most to this day, and my old Xbox since I have a few games that aren't backwards compatible with the 360 (even with the latest updates).

I had a silver GameCube but I sold out many moons ago. Right now I only own a PS3 I got last March and a gray GBA SP I've had since 2005

BUMP

I guess my mind isn't as shot as I make it out to be. I knew I remember there being a thread like this, I just didn't realize it was this old. :ermm:
These are games I own/play by myself, w/ my niece, or anyone in general on my Wii U console. I think it's VERY clear from the list where my bias is (), but honestly I enjoy playing just about any genre of gaming as long as it's fun and enjoyable. It doesn't take much to impress me.

Wii U
Physical Disks
-New Super Mario Bros U + Super Luigi U (Included in the NSMBU Wii U Bundle)
-Mario Kart 8 (in addition to DLC I bought)
-Super Smash Bros 4 (For a SSB newbie, my niece kicks some serious butt in this game. This is her favorite game)
-Mario Party 10
-Mass Effect 3
-Ninja Gaiden 3:Razor's Edge
-Call of Duty: Black Ops II
-Assassin's Creed III
-Need for Speed: Most Wanted U
-Super Mario 3D World
-Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
-Wheel of Fortune
-The Price is Right (Virtual Wii Mode)
-Super Mario Galaxy (Virtual Wii Mode)

Digital Downloads (Nintendo eShop App)
-The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker HD (I got this for free as part of a Mario Kart 8 promotion where if you pre-ordered/registered Mario Kart 8 on Club Nintendo, you could choose Windwaker HD among 3 other games you could download for free.)
-Super Mario Kart (SNES; Virtual Console)
-Mario Kart: Super Circuit (GBA; Virtual Console)
-Mario Kart DS (DS; Virtual Console)
-Super Mario World (SNES; Virtual Console)
-Super Mario Advance (GBA; Virtual Console)
-Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 (GBA; Virtual Console)
-Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (GBA; Virtual Boy) [I got this game for free for reaching Gold Status on Club Nintendo]
-Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Virtual Wii Mode)
-Wii Sports Club
-Swords and Soldiers
-Kung Fu Rabbit
-Cloudberry Kingdom
-Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition
-Color Zen
-Amiibo Tap
-Watch Dogs

Games I Downloaded in Virtual Wii Mode (via Club Nintendo Download Code)
-Mario Kart 64
-Super Smash Bros (N64)
-Mario Party 2

I was very unhappy when Wii discontinued online play.  The online services actually started to disappear less than a year after I bought it.  (Yes, I'm a late bloomer.)  I especially miss the online voting.

Oh you mean the Wii's "Everybody Votes Channel"? Oh man that's a classic. Yeah it is quite disappointing Wiiconnect24 was discontinued. I loved the Forecast Channel that was provided. I think WNI Weathernews provided weather conditions & forecasts for that channel. I wish the Wii U had the amazing channels that the Wii had.

I think Nintendo made a blunder with the WiiU.  It's not a bad machine in and of itself, but it's not what it could have been.  Disconnecting pretty much everything about the Wii (thus turning it into, basically, a Wii Mini, except for the Wii Store and the internet browser) to kind of force people to upgrade or do without... that was a mistake.  The fact that the upgrade seems like the project lost direction somewhere in the middle doesn't help, either.

I believe I remember reading an article a couple of years ago that said they didn't plan/develop the Wii U as extensively as they should have, in other words, I think they rushed it out to get a head start on Microsoft and Sony and figured since 100 million+ Wii consoles had been sold, most would automatically jump on board to the Wii U. They went from the best selling video game console in their history with the Wii to the worst selling video game console in their history with the Wii U. It may not even reach the Gamecube, which was the worst selling Nintendo home console before the Wii U came out. Some of the things that I have read about their next platform code named the "NX" makes me optimistic they won't be making some of the same mistakes again. I can't wait to hear more about this platform come 2016.
