So, O.J. Simpson's latest trial got underway today. What are your thoughts? Do you think he's innocent this time, or guilty once again? Do you think he'll get a fair trial, especially with the makeup of the jury (a very big topic in the news)? Got other thoughts?
I think he's guilty as charged. Of course, I thought he was guilty in 1994 also. Seems to me he thinks that since he's a star (albeit a former one) he can do as he pleases with no fear of ramifications. And as far as I'm concerned that farce of a trial in 1994 only solidified that belief in his mind. Some might say I'm prejudiced. Not true. If he were white I'd feel the same way. No one writes a detailed book called "If I Did It" if they didn't do it. And I think that same belief that he deserves preferential treatment allowed him to believe he could bust into someone's motel room to steal items he claims are his. I think his actions were unjustifiable, and he ought to rot in prison for awhile. I'm sure the sight of O.J. behind bars will make alot of people feel alot better about our justice system (and give the late night guys some good material!). And it'll show O.J. that he doesn't get preferential treatment because he used to play football.
