I think that we should just sum it up by saying that Al's against responsibility in its entirety.  :P

Wow i only posted this about a half an hour ago and its already a hot topic!

Here's my side:

First I think it's good that such a law is in place that way the number of accidents caused by hooligans driving while on the phone can be reduced.

However, they allowed other "hand held devices" to use. I guess they mean walkie-talkies.

I dont think they should confiscate cell phones though. That seems kinda harsh

Hmm, maybe teenagers shouldn't be allowed to drive then...

I won't argue with that! Teenagers (and I know-I was one!) are the most irresponsible group of people there are!

I just wanted to comment on something you said at TWCC. So you think that outlawing driving while texting is stupid too? Maybe you also support driving while blindfolded?

actually there are laws in certain states to ban teen driving.

Are half of cell phone related accidents caused by teen drivers?

I'm a teenager, and I'm going to be very honest with you - I am quite responsible for what I do and for one thing I'm not going to do something stupid as talking on my cell phone when I drive. And that's the 100% truth.

Maybe you also support driving while blindfolded?
Great idea! :D

Teenagers are no where near responsible to drive. I'm all for raising the driving age to 18, if it means safer driving conditions.

well see, you don't even need your eyes to text...i text with out looking at my phone. many teenagers can do it...and they do it while driving too.

at first obviously your not going to get every letter, but when you work with it during classes (when you're not suppose to text) its practice basically.

But your still distracted. Your not paying as much attention to the road.

Seeing SSS's post, I should correct my statement: MOST teenagers are too irresponsible to drive.

But you're still putting half your focus on your cell phone. You need COMPLETE, 100% focus on the road while you're driving.

NJ has already raised the driving age to 18, starting with the HS graduating class of 2011.
