Title: Newest member of the family
Post by: Gil on October 04, 2008, 01:49:39 PM
Yeah..  :hmm: Picked this one up real cheap. Built from 1995-1997, it's more expandable than a Mac Pro (), with 6 PCI slots. This thing is a beast. The processor is on a removable daughtercard. Really fast SCSI bus (No IDE/ATA) and an overall excellent motherboard architecture.

This is noted as being one of the WORST cases that Apple has ever made. I took it off last night to install my drive, and spent over 4 hours trying to get the SOB back on. Whatever.

This was also one of the only Macs to use a PowerPC 604e microprocessor.
It's a Power Macintosh 9500. :)

Nice. My grandpop had a 9500, except his had a 200 MHz processor. He got rid of it about two years ago and now just has a Powerbook from 2004.

Turns out the processor board was not pushed into the socket all the way. :wall: :chair:

Also, resetting the CUDA switch worked too.
