Today marked the first day of the 25th season for Jeopardy! and 26th season for Wheel of Fortune. What do you guys think of it?
This season we have new music for Jeopardy and that really shocked me. This is probably the biggest change they made to the theme music since 1997, not long after Merv Griffin sold the program to Sony Pictures. I don't really like the new music at all. I hope they change it back, though I'll probably grow on it sooner or later. Aside from that and new graphics (which usually happens every year) nothing much else has changed.
New Wheel of Fortune graphics as well, including a new graphic for the category and jackpot round. Also, a new $1 Million bonus round where the $100,000 prize is substituded for the $1 Million wedge if you get no bankrupts. The $1 Million wedge also replaced the old $10,000 wedge. I like it.

Just because I uploaded it somewhere else, the new Jeopardy! thinking cue (http://www.sendspace.com/file/z99cnn). The opening cut sucks, but my golly is the new think cue something good. Sounds like they ripped it straight from a live band during a 50s game (yes, they had live bands play live music for LIVE games in the 50s).

OMG why did they change the jeopardy theme music! It's a legend, They should not have changed it like the Coca Cola logo. That logo is very popular and it would be controversial to change that.

Guess what? They changed it in 1997 from the one that DEBUTED WITH THE SHOW in 1964. Not controversial.
Controversial: Jeopardy providing the questions, the contestant providing the answers.

Well no one would like it!

Really? That long? I'd probably get tired of it if it were around for that long.
I'm sure the music will change back to the old 2001 theme soon. I can't see that music staying on there. There's something about it that doesn't make it "game show like," but I can't put my finger on it.

- Lack of pompous introduction
- Light jazz-feel to theme (perfect fit for TWC)
- Random trumpet flourishes during the close
RE: think cue, it was on 1963-74 (original run), then 1984-1997 with the revival.

Well, because of CBS's coverage of "Tennis", I missed "Wheel Of Fortune"! :cry3:
-
I saw WoF! :twothumbs: That's like, one of my favorite shows, evar. I love the glittery $1mil wedge, and I liked Pat Sajak's crack on how he made it the night before, in his basement. :P

We had our first $1 Million winner on WoF tonight!

I like the new Jeopardy music. At least it still has the same signature.
