Major Computer Problems - Please Help ASAP
« on: November 28, 2009, 12:08:17 PM »
Hello, I just purchased a desktop not even a year ago and already I am having major problems with it. It won't get past the Compaq screen (boot screen I guess it's called). I try hitting all the F keys and escape and nothing happens. I also tried taking out some of the RAM in case it was a memory problem and that doesn't work either. The computer was working just fine early this morning and now I can't get it to boot. It's a Compaq desktop with XP in it. I don't want to deal with the hassle of buying another computer and having to transfer my files again, so please help. If you think IM would be the best method to help, let me know and I'll give you my address (I have AIM, Yahoo, and MSN).

Okay false alarm, there was a hell of a lot of dust in my tower so I cleaned it and now it's working.

I ave a Compaq laptop and it did this same thing, except, it runs Vista. But we reformatted the drive instead.

Glad you got it working though. :)
