A Rowlett High School drama group will be doing a high school production of a hit Broadway Musical "Rent". Although it's racy and provocative, the faculty members say they're doing a more edited version, making it more suitable for teens 13 & up. The studens' parents are protesting against the production amid concerns.

If I were one of the parents of those kids, i'd be asking them exactly what was "edited", and compare it with the original. Sometimes, that line about stuff being "edited" turns out to be a pile of cow manure used to shut people up.

You know, I don't get why parents don't wake up and realize what their kids actually know and not try to shelter them from it. At 13 you pretty much either know about bad language, or know and use it. When I was 13 I knew about sex, I knew about drugs, I knew about all that stuff. Most kids are like this, too. It's stupid that parents think that they need to shelter the kids about it.

My local high school "Durfee High" is also doing the musical

i don't get what the big deal is...parents continue to be :censored: as usual
rent is an awesome musical...heights performed it a few years ago and had no problems.

I like Rent. My local high school had this musical last year and most didn't have problems. Plus we're teenagers who can handle this, not little children.

I personally think someone should do a "Goatse" musical. It would truely stretch the boundaries of moral acceptability.
Or not.

I don't think that would go over too well with most people.

Next he'll be suggesting a 2girls1cup musical... which I would highly recommend people who haven't seen it not watch it.

You can't even see 2g1c. The closest you can get is people watching it on their computer.
