My name is Patrick, and I just joined your forum this morning. I enjoy the weather and college sports. I've been watching the Weather Channel since 1990, and I even recorded a few local forecast songs from the mid-90's using a tape cassette recorder as digital cameras and YouTube didn't exist at that time. After watching TWC constantly and living through 1996 (a year in which I watched 48" of snow fall from the Blizzard of '96, a flash flood from all of that said snow melting one week later, and a major flood from 10+" of rain courtesy of Hurricane Fran), I realized that I had made my career decision for good! I just finished my Master's degree and will be looking for my first Meteorology job over the next several months, so please wish me luck!
I'm a little worried about the fact that I'm older than many people here as you can tell from my profile, so I would definitely appreciate any help in becoming comfortable with everyone and making some new friends. I look forward to meeting all of you and sharing the same passion in weather that led me here. :) Oh, and if you're wondering why my first avatar is the wintry mix icon, it's because a storm is about to dump a wintry mess over my area in less than 24 hours! ;)

Hi Patrick! Welcome to TWC Today! Hope you enjoy your stay and become an active member. It shouldn't be bothersome that you're older than most here. Hope you get your first meteorological job and hope it goes well! B) B) B) B)

Welcome to the TWC today Forum. You are among friends....I am somewhat older too (30) relative to most of the membership here. I have been watching TWC since June of 1991, back when YouTube was still in the drawing board. I used to record the LF's (Local Forecasts) on cassette tape myself.. I will have to tell you my story sometime.....but at any rate. it good to see other fellow TWC fans coming out of the woodwork. Another site to check out is www.twcclassics.com (http://www.twcclassics.com), which is the site I ran into first, which allowed me to find and discover all the TWC music I was -then hearing since 1991. Again Welcome to the forum

Hi Patrick! Welcome to TWCT! Let me assure you that though many of our members are quite young I don't stand for childish behavior. I run this forum with the expectation that everyone will be mature and reasonable. I have no tolerance for immature behavior. So if your even a little worried about the atmosphere here, worry not!
But all that aside, I hope you enjoy everything we have to offer here! If you have questions or comments don't hesitate to PM or e-mail me at anytime! B)
By the way, are you the Patrick I know from Eastern US Wx?
-
To lfmusiclover: I am not from Eastern US Wx. This is the first online forum that I have ever joined. I'll send you a PM shortly with some general questions.
Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone!

Just thought I'd ask. I know a guy over there named Patrick, and I've been expecting him here at some point or another. B)

Welcome Patrick! BTW, seeing how he got his degree, would he belong to the Meteorologists group?

Welcome to the forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

By the way, Localonthe8s, the YouTube videos by you and your friends are extremely good. So many Google searches on old TWC songs and storm alerts constantly led me to these videos and ultimately this forum. Keep up the good work!

Thanks, Actually the videos on my account were recently uploaded lol, glad you like them though.
