I hate to contradict myself and veer off topic further, but that is the most stupidest reason not to want to celebrate a major milestone for a network. Who cares if most of your viewers now weren't born before 1981. Just like every other single themed network that has fallen through the cracks, they're trying so hard to only appeal to younger viewers just to shunt out the viewers that have stayed loyal to them from the beginning. If I didn't know any better from the quote posted, the way they're talking about not aging with their viewers, you would think everyone from 1981 that was watching then is dead lol.
They know what MTV is and if they put effort into a special or something they might learn something interesting about the network they never knew and make them appreciate the channel for what it was then. I just realized Cartoon Network has a 20th anniversary coming up in October I believe I wonder if they're gonna go the MTV route or if they will celebrate it.
