Title: Gil's Thread
Post by: Gil on January 08, 2008, 07:07:06 PM
I am back. Go me! By now, you all pretty much know the deal with this thread, which is good, cause i don't have to waste time by explaining it. Anywho, I'm really bored and i don't want to do homework. I was going to buy a new iPod tonight, but i forgot.

It is a First Gen Nano, over 2 years old. After being used for over an hour EVERY SINGLE DAY for 2 years, the battery only lasts about 30 minutes, which is why i want a new one.

My battery lasts for 2-3 hours straight when played continously

My iPod's battery can last about 6-8 hours, but that's because I don't use it excessively and I have the brightness turned to near minimum.

I want to get an iPod Touch. They look really neat.

I guess I wouldn't care as much if MS hadn't made a crappy ripoff/copy of everything Apple did.

I'll admit one thing: it was a pain in the arse to set up. It took me over two weeks to get the damn thing to sync with my computer properly.  I guess that's just ordinary MS BS though.

I'd rather spend $50 extra to get a well-made, reliable, and higher capacity iPod.
Title: Re: Gil's Thread
Post by: lfmusiclover on January 08, 2008, 07:39:22 PM
30GB is far more than enough capacity for me. Unless you have enough to fill an 80GB iPOd, its a waste (and I HIGHLY doubt you do). The Zune is well made, but like most other MS products, its only flaw is its dependability. But since I've gotten it to work, its been flawless, so I'm not dissatisfied at this point.

Just about my entire TWC collection, and a good part of my rock music collection. My non TWC music includes stufflike Third Eye Blind, Goo Goo Dolls, 38 Special, Lynyrd Skynrd, REO Speedwagon, Hootie and the Blowfish, and so on.

I'll tellyou this: I used to have an 80GB hard drive in my PC (which I used until it died), and even with all of my programs, music, videos, and so forth I still had over 20GB to spare. So in my mind, it is TERRIBLY unlikely that you can fill 80GB.

Again, you don't know. Maybe for you, 80GB was ample space in your computer, but maybe that's not the case for me. My computing/music needs are obviously a lot different than yours.

Seeing as you can't install computer software on an Ipod (or Zune for that matter) it would seem physically impossible to fill 80GB, no matter your needs.

Not really. Depends how much music you have, as well as DVD's, movies, TV, and Video, its very possible. Thats why they also have 160GB models.

There are songs that I like that have a bit of rap on it, such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But songs that have all rap on them such as Eminem's or 50 Cent's songs are ones that I dislike.

When I started watching TWC excessively in 2004, I gained more interest in instrumental music and less in vocal music. Though, I still enjoy both types of music.

Are the songs on that music MySpace (the one with Meadow Groove and After Time Stops) songs you created, or ones your brother made? I really like those two songs, whoever made them.

Those are my brother's, which i cannot legally put on my BMI account. However, I will probably include them on the CD i'm sending in, so theres a good chance you'll hear them on TWC this year.

That isn't really a swear word. Unless someone were to use it towards a member in anger, I don't see why Matt or Tyler would think it's unnecessary. In my book, swear words are words like the F word and other words in that level. I think swearing should be allowed there as long as we don't do it excessively.

I'm worried about some of you people...

On another note, Gil loves V8. Delicious. I don't see how people think it's disgusting.

I used to drink V8 Slash all of the time.  I don't like the tomato juice, however.

My mom uses V8 in Chili.

What's the big deal about HFCS?
Wow im not sure how to explain this. Have you been alive the past 5 years? Its the leading cause of diabetes and obesety. It's not Sugar, because Sugar is not even used in products anymore. It's HFCS.
Title: Re: Gil's Thread
Post by: lfmusiclover on January 11, 2008, 05:57:14 PM
It is sugar. Anything with an -ose suffix is a sugar. If you don't know that yet, you will when you get into high school (provided you take biology).

BTW, there's about as much proof of your claims about HFCS as there is about the claims that potato chips cause cancer.
Title: Re: Gil's Thread
Post by: Gil on January 11, 2008, 06:05:16 PM
No it isn't. Its not pure sugar. its chemicals, that have become so common, people reffer to it as sugar. Sugar is Sugar. nothing else is. And seeing as sugar is almost never used anymore, everything uses HFCS.
Title: Re: Gil's Thread
Post by: lfmusiclover on January 11, 2008, 06:09:16 PM
No, Gil. Search it on Google. Its a sugar. Quit listening to the news. You'll make yourself miserable. Not to mention paranoid (though it looks like your already well on your way with that).

HFCS is a artificial sugar. They use HFCS because its CHEAPER than real sugar. Corn syrup itself isn't real sugar.

Anyone can get it, no matter their age, race, color, sex, etc. Cancer doesn't discriminate.

It is indeed, though, disheartening to see a child with cancer. No child should have to suffer that way.

Well we have so much crap in our world these days, such as Microwaves (Hey kids, let's put radiation in our food!), Radio/Cell Phones/Wireless stuff that probably causes bad stuff to happen too, polution, and tons of other stuff. Technology kills.

LOL, I love that edit note Kyle!  :rofl2:

Anywho, there's not enough scientific evidence on any of that stuff to get my attention. I refuse to live paranoid. In my opinion, whatever is going to happen to you is going to happen. You can't rewrite fate. Therefore, there's no sense in worrying about what you can't control.

Some of the stuff I can't control, but I can definitely control what will be going inside of my body. I do believe that microwaves are unsafe, which is probably why the world is so messed up. It must warp people's brains :D

That's one of the dumbest things i have heard. I highly doubt. You cant really get cancer from eating microwaved food because you need to be exposed to HUGE amounts of radiation, like bombs and factories, to get cancer

I agree, without looking in to the microwave how else would I know when my bowl of butter is overflowing and creating butter rain?
