Some cities in North Jersey are still paying nearly two dollars more (as high as $4.89) than what we're paying here!

$2.99 is still high, but at least it's the lowest price I've heard of in quite sometime

Wow prices are dropping, which is really good! Is there a chance gas could drop below $2.00 in the near future?

That really depends on the economy. If it continues to fall, so will gas. If it rebounds, so will gas. See?

Paid $46 to fill up the truck's tank. Lowest it's been in in more than a year!

Oil prices have dropped again, currently hovering around $82/barrel. This trend of dropping oil prices seems to be here to stay. I said yesterday that I didn't think we'd see gas prices dip below $2 a gallon, but now I'm rethinking that statement. At this point there doesn't seem to be any reason why that's not realistic. The oil market is just not strong anymore. And as long as the stock market continues to crash, oil prices are only going to follow.

Yes it's indeed a possibility to see below $2 gas prices if the economy continues to decline. Besides, it was less than two years ago when gas was down to about $1.90 here in New Jersey for a brief period of time, so it is likely we'll see it again.
