Looks like prices should take a drop. Oil prices have tanked these past few days

Surprising if you ask me... I figured demand would go up after the Japan earthquake.

Oil demand will drop in Japan for a while during this cleanup process until they can get all their industries back up and running, and the overall world markets dipped a little lately.  That has caused the recent drop in oil prices.

Also does anyone know when the crisis in Egypt and Libya will come to an end?

It takes about a week to a week and a half for gas prices to reflect the change in oil prices.

Egypt is okay. It's Libya you should focus on.

You know I was thinking the same thing. Patricks explanation does make sense

Well in Egypt its whenever the military decides to hand control over to some civilian government. In Libya it will end when Gaddafi finishes killing all of the protesters. :/ Not a very promising situation. Libya should really be a lesson to countries thinking of a revolution. Not all revolutions will end well.

Japan is the third biggest economy in the world.  Take out a country who certainly uses a lot of oil, and you get this reaction.  However, Pop Light Brown is right about the lag between oil prices and the cost of gasoline.

Anyway, gasoline was $3.45 per gallon before I left for my trip.
