The government doesn't care about us anymore... they only care about what Obama and Congress think. :hmm:

To follow up from Josh's post above, we shouldn't be dependent on just one source for energy.  Let me give you all some numbers I looked up to think about here:  70% of electricity in the United States comes from fossil fuels alone (coal, natural gas, and petroleum).  Meanwhile, about 90% of France's electricity comes from their own nuclear plants, hydro plants, and other renewable resources.  They don't have to rely on foreign sources nearly as much.  Why can't we be like that?

Anyway, regular unleaded gasoline is $3.26 per gallon in my area today.
Damn right! Nuclear is the way to go. Safe, clean and efficient. France even recycles the fuel rods they use in their plants.
Nuclear energy is amazing. It's just misunderstood...
Anyways... I've seen $3.60 earlier. I also have seen $3.52 in South Lansing.

Upon arriving to EC, Most of the gas prices here are already $4-$4.10 for Unleaded! I guess it's a bit better to go to SD for gas then. :P

No up to $3.55 in my area. :( Highest since summer 2008...

I've heard that a contributing factor to the rising gas is that Libya isn't exporting oil currently.

I use 89 for my car (87 isn't good unless you have a four-banger; I have 281 cubic inches of displacement to feed :) )and that's running about $3.48 in Pittsburgh. Best part is I only get 7-12 mpg in my car.

While on the topic, I told other people this (and not to stump speech, but put a jab in). I think $4 gas will motivate Americans to start considering use of other fuels. I think once a gallon hits $4.50, it's never going to go back down. (Google "Peak Oil" and you'll see what I mean). If they can create a decent way of using CNG for cars, you won't have to ever worry about shelling out $100 a tank like some in California are doing right now ;) Natural gas just doesn't have enough octane in it to make a decent engine, plus it only gets about 1/3-1/4 of the supply, so you can't go cross country with it. But I will say this (especially in PA): With the Marcellus Shale fields being tapped, you're going to have dirt cheap natural gas, drilled in America by Americans, and shipped literally out of your backyards, by American companies whose land is owned by Americans. A win-win situation, if you ask me.

I have a 3.0L V6 on my 14 yr old camry and I can only use Lukoil... there's something in their fuel that my car likes for some reason. Any other brand makes my engine light go on.
