Gas prices here in the SD area are crazy. Most of them here are reporting $3.69. The most expensive I've seen since February 24 was $3.95.

What we simply need to do is just work on not relying for oil. I see this gas price rise crisis every year. Then again, We're stuck in a loop that never breaks. This is how it goes-

  • Prices go up since lame excuse is made
WE'RE GOING TO WORK ON NEW SOURCES OF ENERGY.
  • Oil Company lowers prices when told that
Oh, well let's stick to oil then!
  • Repeat.

We're never going to leave this loop. I can't even IMAGINE the gas prices in California. They're like 20-50 cents higher than what we pay in Texas.

Crude oil is back above $100 a barrel.

I heard on the radio today that some stations in Chicago are charging $4.09.

To follow up from Josh's post above, we shouldn't be dependent on just one source for energy.  Let me give you all some numbers I looked up to think about here:  70% of electricity in the United States comes from fossil fuels alone (coal, natural gas, and petroleum).  Meanwhile, about 90% of France's electricity comes from their own nuclear plants, hydro plants, and other renewable resources.  They don't have to rely on foreign sources nearly as much.  Why can't we be like that?

Anyway, regular unleaded gasoline is $3.26 per gallon in my area today.

I strongly agree, I don't understand why we can't get away from oil and use more clean effective and renewable energies, iirc, oil is not a renewable resource so once it's gone it's gone regardless if we did drill wells here in the states.

Damn right! Nuclear is the way to go. Safe, clean and efficient. France even recycles the fuel rods they use in their plants.

I got gas last Sunday for $3.23 per gallon.  Yesterday, one gas station that I pass had $3.49 on their sign.  This is rediculous.  I guess that isn't anything compared to what we could see.  :hmm:

Gas is almost $4 for unleaded, $4.30 for Plus/Premium. God dang it. I guess it's better to take the bus these days.
