A few gas stations I passed in Cherry Hill, NJ were also $1.97 as of this evening.

Oil is at $59, and people are saying we will see UNDER $40 before we see $65 again.

Seriously, though, that's great news. I fully expect to see gas prices drop to less than $1.75. At the rate its falling it may even reach as low as $1.50. Heck, it may even go lower. The economic situation we're in is here to stay for awhile, so oil prices still have plenty of falling room.

But the lowest in the Bay Area is $2.04 a gallon.

Highest: $2.49 a gallon.

I kid you not, oil is trading in electronic trading at 50.50/barrel.  And one gallon of gas on the open market (pre-tax/transportation/fees) is going for 1.03/gal.
