Does anyone remember The WB?
« on: October 07, 2008, 10:54:38 PM »
I was woundering, has anyone remember watching The WB? You know, Warner Brother's old television network and also the predicessor to The CW? I expecialy remembered Kids WB. I grew up watching mostly Kids WB back from 1995-2006 and really miss it. One show that I miss the most was Pokemon. Remember, the show that was based off from the video game back in 1998?

Anyways, I remembered watching mostly Kids WB durring weekday mornings, weekday afternoons, and Saturday mornings. I even videotaped durring the final days of not just the network itself, but also the old voice cast from Pokemon. They left the show after eight seasons. It also moved from over-the-air brodcast to basic cable/satellite.

Here's some videos that I taped between Feburary-July 2006 (shortly before the merger with UPN).

Part 1

Part 2

Anyways, does anyone remember The WB?

Yes, I watched Kids WB heavily from 1999-2004. Good times.

I have some old footage of Kids WB I recorded back in 1999, including TV shows, bumper graphics, promos and more.

I never did either.  I thought the programming wasn't all that great.  Just like the CW, only CW is worse.

I remember that network. I would watch Kids WB and some Sunday Night comedies from 1995-2000. The only other shows I would watch on that network are "Drew Carey's Green Screen Show" and "Blue Collar TV". Great times.

Now we have the sucky CW.

BTW, KDAF-TV in my area has changed the station branding from "CW33" to "The 33" as of September.

Kids WB started going downhill by 2006. I remember watching shows like Pokemon, Batman Beyond, and Men in Black back in the late 90's.

Since The CW Television isn't doing so well in the ratings, I don't think it can even keep up with the big four networks. After less than two years, I think its about time for The CW to shut down for good. Same thing for My Network TV. Both of these broadcast stations are not doing so well because of one thing -- they are targeting mostly female audiences (ages 14-39). I even thank Saturday mornings are dead too, and Kids WB was the last surviving good Saturday morning network (ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC were already declining).

Way to go FCC!  I think its about time all of the networks should end their Saturday morning block and replace it with local programing.
