Just a reminder that Daylight Savings Time begins at 2AM this Sunday. Don't forget to set those clocks FORWARD one hour! B)
-
Wow! That was quick. I didn't expect that until the end of the month.
-
I hate DST changes. They shorten my weekends! <_< :P
-
I LOVE DST. Although it will now be dark when I have to leave for school, it won't last very long, and I'd rather have it be lighter outside later in the day.
We're getting closer and closer to spring and summer. :)
-
I love DST. More daylight!
-
I keep on forgetting about that. And besides, 15 miles southward from where I live (Mexico) they are lucky they don't have to change their clocks until April  *grr* It's gonna be confusing for one month.
But anyways, I will not forget this time thanks to this thread.

Come on, please don't remind me of the horrible migraines I get when we "spring" forward. <_<
-
I don't like springing forward, I like falling back, I need that extra hour of sleep!

Go to bed an hour earlier then, if you don't want to lose sleep.

And there's the common sense quote of the day. :D
-
Yay! The more sunlight, the less moody I am. ^_^
-
I like having longer days, but that is a sign that summer heat is coming. <_<
-
I love heat! I'd take it over chill.
-
At this point, that summer heat sound really good to me! :D
-
Spring Rubber likes "springing" forward! :whistling:
-
I am so enthusiastic for the time change! :D
I am setting all kinds of reminders/alarms to make sure I am not asleep B) I was actually able to get a recording of my intellistar with the time change from 1:59 to 1:00 back in November, which I have posted on youtube, and I can't wait to see the time change from 1:59 to 3:00 on Sunday!
-
Hurray! :thrilled: I love setting the clocks forward for spring. Is this the first year DST has been the second week in March? :dunno:
-
No, it's been like that since 2007.
-
We changed our clocks tonight, right?
-

Yes, it's tonight.
-
At 2 AM tonight, we spring forward an hour. We go through this daylight saving time change literally one-by-one with each time zone.
-
I already sprung my clock back. :)

I hope you mean forward. ;)

Be careful, Billy. Google Maps actually does show "Thunderville" as a placemark within Thunder Ranch, TX. :D

The whole "Thunderville" thing was a joke a while back, because Vic's old username was "Thunder."

ROFL. :rofl2: :rofl2:

Welcome to daylight saving time! Hope everyone has their clocks adjusted correctly. ;)

Anyway you put it, 3/4 of the church will be 1 hour late. People do not listen to what the news people say. :innocent:
-
I caught it!
The time change from EST to EDT occurs at 2:36 right before the end of the LF :)

I guess....it's a great planet though. Why won't you come over??? There's free cake. :(

Blah...I woke up, changed my clock, it's now 10:30 my time, and I'm still tired.
I hate the part that we lose one hour of sleep. <_<
-
Apparently Facebook decided to double spring forward... Their times are one hour ahead.
-
I don't see how springing our clocks forward 1 hour early is supposed to save energy.

You have extra sunlight, thus less lights need to be on, etc

It's really a matter of common sense.
-
However, some places will need extra heat for the morning with the daylight not arriving as early, and other places may need extra air conditioning for the longer heat and sunshine in the evenings. I've seen studies saying anywhere from just a small amount of energy is saved to even that we use more energy during daylight saving time!
-
Daylight savings time, for me, is the time when the days quit being so dark and gloomy. During standard time it seems like darkness lasts longer than the daylight. The days now seem so much brighter.

If that's the case then why don't they just not use Daylight savings and keep time the way it is?
-
Then we'd have sunrise at 8:30 during the winter time...
-
...that's a normal occurence in Alaska. In the summers, polar regions like Norway, Russia, Sweden, Iceland, etc.. get sunlight at 12am. In fact, it's never dark there during that time. In the winter, it's the opposite, it's dark most of the time.

I would love to see that someday, sunlight at 12 AM? Would I be able to sleep? :bleh:

Depends, if you're used to sleeping with the sun in front of you. :P (lame attempt)
-
If there is sunlight when you're going to sleep, couldn't you just pull the curtains/blinds?

It doesn't make the room completely dark. For natural sleep, the room has to be pitch dark for the body functions that happen at night to properly do what they need to do.
