Comcast Adds NBC Peacock To New Logo, Hoping To Replace Thoughts Of Mediocre Cable With Memories Of So-So TV Shows
Even though NBC’s TV offerings only represent a relatively small portion of Comcast’s overall business, the folks at Kabletown are giving the network’s classic peacock logo a prime position in the new Comcast logo.
The logo, which was revealed to employees last night, replaces Comcast’s well-known black-and-red design with an all-caps version of the company name crowned by the peacock logo that’s been associated with NBC for 56 years. It will gradually replace all the existing logos on Comcast trucks, uniforms, ads and marketing materials. The Xfinity branding will remain unchanged.

They might as well rename themselves NBComcast.

Merged the two posts from The Pot Belly Stove in to Michael's new thread, hence his post moving to #3. Michael is the originator of the topic, not myself. That I do not know how to change.

All I have to say is.... "Good luck."

I really like the font. Nice and clean yet still stylish. I thought at first this my cause some confusion for consumers but now that they are branding xfinity for their cable services it probably wont be an issue.
-
I liked Comcast's logo and now NBC has to step in and ruin it.  :finger:
-
I actually like the NBC logo the peacock is a unique symbol of the network. Comcast's logo didn't stand out
-
NBC didn't decide to put the peacock in Comcast's logo. Comcast decided to do it on their own after an internal vote amongst their voting board.

So it's Comcast's fault and not NBC's?

Comcast bought NBC. Not the other way around. They can do anything they want with the NBC logo

Fault? I think the word you meant to use there was decision. It's not your company, so I hardly see it as appropriate for you to drop blame on groups.

Whenever something goes wrong, or something happens that I don't like or agree with, I always try to establish a scapegoat. That's how I feel about it.

It looks like a logo that would be more appropriate for Rock Center.
And really, it's a company decision. No side, either Comcast or NBC, see this as a "fault." I can assure you that.

I don't really care much who decided on Comcast's new logo, but I think it looks awful with the NBC peacock on it  I think the old logo was better IMO.
-
We get a cable channel, "Comcast Sports South" (CSS), and it still has the old Comcast logo on it.
-
I have no comments on the logo... logos are logos. Whether it has a peacock on it or not, it doesn't affect their already crappy customer service. xD

True that. Today, I caught the tail end of a commercial that showed this new logo at the end so they're already branding it out by television now.

Why would a cable company purchase one of the big three major tv networks? (The other two are ABC and CBS).

Maybe they saw it as a profit opportunity, just my two cents though.
