Title: Audio Waveforms
Post by: Bryan on April 05, 2012, 11:17:18 PM
This is something I do in my spare time.  I'll take an audio file and increase it's output volume.  It really does make a difference.  I've done several.

When I was younger, back in the Windows 3.1 days, I used to use the Sound Recorder program to amplify and diminish a sound file's audio (we're talking about .wav - long before MP3s came about!) until it sounded like someone was speaking underneath mud 50 miles away through a tunnel.  :)

It entertained pre-teen Eric.  :rofl2:

I do that too (when the sound is too low). Sometimes, though, Audacity won't let me raise the volume much (if at all). Haven't figured out why.

I can't raise some files either.  My best guess is that the sound file is already raised to it's max.
