I was looking forward to iTunes 10, but it isn't available yet to download. Yet again, if the social network thing is what is the selling point of the upgrade, I see no point in moving on to iTunes 10. I don't *do* social networks, especially if they're mainly "[name] bought [album] by [artist]".
iTunes 10 is available for download now. Funny how it doesn't appear in Software Update.

I agree with you. The whole social networking bizniz is just pointless and a waste of time. I don't want my friends to know what album or song I bought.

But yet, you have to download it if you're an iPod user (like me <_<). Or else, some of the features won't be compatible in the future (yeah, just like when the iOS4).

Oh, btw, I'm buying the new iPod nano for my mom for Christmas, and this post will remind me!

Well, I was downloading iTunes 10 from Apple's website, just when I opened Software Update and discovered that iTunes 10 is now there.

I stopped the update from Safari, and am now downloading it from Software Update.

I still have iTunes 8.0 on my computer... I don't like the interface of the iTunes store in the newer versions because when you do a search, it doesn't just list all the songs titles anymore, but instead you have to click on all the albums, which is more time consuming.

Here are some screenshots of iTunes 10. I also included the last version of iTunes 9 (9.2.1) for nostalgia. Notice the new look and logo in the iTunes 10 screenshots.

Can I offer you some advice? I would recommend editing the first post next time, for all of these updates, instead of making 6 in a row separate posts, especially if you're the only one in it so far.
And you don't need to add a  after ever sentence. <_<

I noticed that. I couldn't resist. After all, I'm an Apple fanboy.

The new iTunes software also consume more memory space and CPU, which can really slow down your computer. Not to mention the store takes a minute longe to load now

I dunno, I thought I was the Apple fanboy on these forums...  :bleh: I call a challenge...

I'm not sure about the nano, it's cool but I think people will prefer the old one. I'm glad to see the buttons back on the shuffle so you don't have to use the crappy earbuds with the buttons. The new touch looks awesome but since I have an iPhone I already have all that stuff.

My favorite thing was the new Apple TV, I have wanted something like this for a while. The only thing that upsets me is what why would I pay .99 cents to watch a TV show when I can jump on my Mini (which is already hooked up to my TV) and watch it for free on Hulu. The only benefit I see is you get access to the whole library of episodes, not just the latest 5 but I have Hulu Plus so about 10 episodes on that and it pays for itself.

Amen. Here are my thoughts

1. iPod Touch- Decent upgrade
2. iPod Nano- Lame. Sorry I can not see a UI like that being great to navigate.  Touch screens aren't the answer to everything
3. iPod Shuffle- Its like a time warp! After Apples failed buttonless design they went back to what people liked and bought.
4. Apple TV- Complete Fail. Its a Roku box with LESS features! Big miss on Apple to actually make this product interesting. Could have had apps or so much more.
5. iOS Updates- Good.
6. iTunes. WTF! Same old clunky interface. I would have thought by version 10 they would have done some big changes. Nope. Instead we get a lame social network services that is walled preventing you from linking it to Facebook or Twitter.

I really have to agree with Martin here. I was looking really forward to the updates, but disappointed by some things.
The new iTouch is absolutely amazing. I just pre-ordered mine! B)
The nano looks interesting, but I wouldn't buy it. The fake bezel is just ugly.
Shuffle = back to basics :D
Apple TV is something I was excited for. Not anymore. No apps, no storage, and I see no point in it right now.
iOS updates look awesome. I can't wait to try it out on my new iPod.
iTunes 10 = pointless. Ping looked cool, till I found out that Facebook integration wasn't there. (It was in the beginning, but Apple didn't have permission from Facebook, so they shut down their access.)

Agreed 100%. I can't stand iTunes 10 and that "Ping" crap. What is the use of it? I'm sure I wouldn't want it saying every song I purchase to my friends and what not... if they will even use this Ping crap, that is.

Apple has a tendency to slowly release critical features overtime. I wonder if they will do that for the Apple TV but really they failed to make it very interesting by not loading it up. I am very intriqued to see the reviews for the Nano. Perhaps that interface really will work! iPod Touch is a clear win

I've seen a video of the Nano and it looks very hard to use, but, I guess I'll try one out at the Apple Store and see what its like. I hope that they to send an update to the Apple TV... I'd buy one if it had apps, and lower prices! ;)
