I'm thinking about switching my cell phone service from Tracfone to Virgin Mobile once the Intercept is released on VM. Anyone have Virgin Mobile? How's the service, customer support, etc? :D
-
I do not have Virgin Mobile. But I heard the service is amazing, but a bit pricey. I do think it's worth it, though.
I like the phones, though...I was considering getting one before but I was a bit of a budget. So I went to BOOST Mobile instead. :P

Virgin Mobile is owned by Sprint and uses their network. So coverage is dependent on how good Sprint's network is in your area.

Well, they're the best value I found so far. $25/month for unlimited text + web + MMS, and 300 minutes...
What's your plan like on BOOST? :P

I would go with Sprint... however, my parents no longer want a contract service. :(
However, I do like the Intercept, which is coming out for VM eventually, and it's the same phone I was gonna get on Sprint. Plus, I get a better value on the plan with VM.

My plan: $50 for a month for unlimited calls, text, walkie talkie, and web. $5 more if you want international calling.
It's really worth it. You don't have to worry a thing about service, plus you don't even need a contract!
There are also other prepaid plans too. If you don't want to pay $50 a month, you can pay $2 a day for unlimited service. Or maybe these: $.10 a min/text message, $.35 a day for web, $1 a day for walkie talkie.

Curious.... what type of phone are you looking for? Smart phone? Flip phone? Having web service is really a waste unless you get a phone that can handle it properly.

Doesn't that cost more than than the monthly plan?

To me, it's a lot more affordable than having to pay a whole bunch every month on a contract. The individual prices I mentioned last are the ones who don't want unlimited service.

Frankly I'll get any phone... looking really at either a smart phone (e.g. Samsung Intercept) or just a feature-packed flip or touch screen phone.

Actually I am exploring getting a MiFi from VM. 40 bucks a month for unlimited internet access. I have that with Tmobile for the same price but I would like to get a mifi product and Sprint has a bit better coverage in the more rural areas of where I travel at times. Let me know if you get them and how they are :)
