Announcing the Weather Network Stream!

I've just recently got an idea to contribute an idea to these forums, and I'd like to propose it now.

On Livestream, I've just created an account intended to be just like the Weather Channel. EDIT: This stream is currently being used for my school forecasting office, but since it will often be used to observe and forecast on a national scale, this stream could be used by TWCToday members as well.

If you're interested, I'm running a test show tomorrow at 5:15 PM EST. It will cover the predicted severe weather outbreak in Arkansas and Tennessee. I'd like to invite you to check it out, if you can! The video will be archived on the site as well, if you can't make it.

What do you guys think? Would a live show be a good addition to the site?

can't say if this is a good idea or not... we had copyright problems when we were streaming TWC in 2009. but I don't know whether or not TWN would have a problem with it (they probably will)

It would be great if it were in at least 720p HD. I like the idea!

You realize that streaming video 720p takes up a lot of bandwidth? Most people don't want to be wasting their precious bandwidth for streaming something in 720p when a 240p-480p broadcast is perfectly sufficient. You should be lucky that there is even a stream of this at all (even though it appears to be down at the moment).

Oh, I forgot about that. 480p would be best though. Why am I lucky? All of the information/graphics that are presented on their I can easily access on the internet.

I think I'm just going to modify the stream to cover severe weather events, with audio updates when necessary.
