Public Transportation

What public transportation services (if any) serves your city?

Almost all of Dallas County is covered by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (also known as DART). It provides over 120 bus routes including DART On-Call, the "Flex" service, and a few other shuttles, plus 2 light rail lines with a couple more opening up in a few years.

There's also a Commuter rail service called the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) that goes from Dallas to Fort Worth...and yes, my hometown is served by TRE.

Philadelphia and its immediate surrounding communities, including my second hometown Bensalem, is served by SEPTA (Southeast Pennsylvania Transportation Authority).

Here in Marlton you don't see much public transport around, but if you do it's usually NJ Transit.

There's also the PATCO speedline (Port Authority Transit Corporation) that stops at many locations in my area. PATCO currently only runs along Camden county, but they plan on expanding their rails as far south as the Millville/Vineland area.

We have NJTransit Buses. Other than that, public transportation is limited. As with Nj Transit, the buses don't operate thourought the county:

for example here's the routes in my area:

501-Brigantine
502-Atlantic Cape Comm. College
504-Ventnor Plaza
505-Margate/Longport
507-Ocean City
508-Absecon/Galloway
509-Northfield-Somers Point

We also have NJ Transit Commuter Rail from ACY to Philadelphia with stops in Atlantic City, Absecon. Egg Harbor, Hammonton, Atco, Cherry Hill, Lindenwold, and Philadelphia.

No public transportation in the 'burbs. At least, not here. People are pretty content with their Merdeces and Porches'
