Who would you vote for in the election? Poll closes after November 4th. Feel free to post who and why
-
I'm voting for Obama as he's the lesser of two evils. Seeing as how I'm one of the lucky few here who can vote, lol...
-

Darn im just one year off! :P Let me go find ACORN :rofl2:
-
I already voted about three weeks ago via absentee ballot.
-
I chose Obama. I think McCain would do things just as Bush does. I think our country needs a change in policy right now, and IMO McCain won't change anything. I'm also not very impressed with McCain choosing Palin as his running mate.
-
I might not be able to vote yet, but I hope to get Change We Can Believe In with Barack Obama. :salute:
-
I'm Going to vote for Obama/Biden tomorrow
-
I'm Going to vote for Obama/Biden tomorrow
Yeah, me too

My parents are voting for OBiden.

Let's hope our good ol' Republicans don't steal yet another election.

Still real early!
-
Wow anyone watching CNN? They have a hologram of a reporter there. They are using 35HD cameras and using projectors to make the image. Real neat
-
From what I've seen so far, NBC's virtual sets are very interesting!
OMFG I swore for sure that Obama was getting the lead
Still real early!
Still very early.
-
Yeah, that was neat
I loved the way they did that
-
Lovely. Looks like 4 more years of the same. <_<
When will people stop being so stupid?
-
Wow anyone watching CNN? They have a hologram of a reporter there. They are using 35HD cameras and using projectors to make the image. Real neat
Yeah, that's pretty cool. Just shows you what the future of news broadcasting will probably be like

Yea I saw that! Must be real hard to know what you are doing. I heard that some of the reporters had months of training.
-
On CNN right now, a lot of the states are still white
It's really too early to tell just yet
-
Electoral Votes:
John McCain- 13 Barack Obama-3 GOAL: 270
West Virginia- McCain

Lovely. Looks like 4 more years of the same. <_<
Holy freaking crap NOT EVEN CLOSE YET.
And you don't think that the republicans aren't going to steal another election? :rofl2:

Well were talking about small, expected states so far. Those swing states are key!

I am really liking MSNBC's graphics package this year.

I really think VA and FL will go McCain but loose PA. Very interesting to watch. Ive been to both a McCain and Obama rally and there is strong support for both in VA. It will be close
-
I am really liking MSNBC's graphics package this year.
I got to give credit to every network. The graphics are amazing in HD! However MSNBC has the BEST website I have seen so far.
-
Electoral Votes:
John McCain- 21 Barack Obama-3 GOAL: 270
South Carolina- McCain
-
I agree, MSNBC's site is by far the best.
Are any of your local stations doing anything special?
Here, WPXI (NBC affiliate) has a cable news channel, PCNC (Pittsburgh Cable News Channel), and have been live since the end of their 6:00 news. At 10:00, their coverage will switch to WPGH/FOX53 (sister station) through 11:00; at that time they will air the 11:00 news back on WPXI, and at 11:30 they go back live on PCNC through at least midnight. What a busy night for their anchors and reporters!

NBC is lighting up the grid in Blue!

NBC is lighting up the grid in Blue!
The big one is Pennsylvania, to Barack.
Was surprised NBC called it so quick, almost instantly after the polls closed at 8 pm. CNN has yet to call PA... they seem to be calling the very conservatively tonight (waiting for most of the counties to come in).
-
Wow, the 8 o'clock hour saw Obama leap way ahead.
Pennsylvania was an extremely big win for Obama. The folks at NBC were saying that it, in an dof itself, may make the election for Obama and break it for McCain.
To Tyler's question: the only thing special around here is that the local affiliates are breaking in at the top and bottom of the hour with local results.

Almost exactly what they said. Im surprised about West Virginia as well. FOX News has only called West Virginia so far
-
McCain all the way

Well most of the states (besides PA) were no brainer wins for Obama. Still close race I think
-
I did coverage on the 7:00 hour.

NBC now giving Illinois to Obama... not surprising. They're also now giving Oklahoma to McCain.
-
McCain all the way
Pennsylvania is definitely going to Obama
-
NBC now giving Illinois to Obama... not surprising. They're also now giving Oklahoma to McCain.
No surprise on either one really.
-
Obama is losing! wtf
-
I'm in Michigan... *cough* Granholm SUX *cough* :whistling:
-
No, he's not losing it just seems like it
-
Really no surprises just yet. PA was something to watch but McCain had a slim chance there anyway
-
NBC now giving Illinois to Obama... not surprising. They're also now giving Oklahoma to McCain.
That was a no-brainer.
-
Obama gets Maryland.
-
Obama is losing! wtf
Shut up. What part of ITS EARLY don't you understand?
-
Very early in fact. half the country still hasn't finished voting.
-
I hope McCain wins Michigan, but it is a Democratic state. Arkansas polls end in about 3 mins!
Off Topic: I've been to Maryland! Its nice :P
-
Florida could be the real surprise tonight. If Obama can take the central, I-4 corridor of the state (Tampa, Orlando, etc), he could wind up taking the state McCain really needs.
-
The last numbers I saw from Florida were heavily in Obama's favor.
-
I think VA is a real surprise. Every poll has Obama in the lead. So far McCain has a fair lead here
-
The last numbers I saw from Florida were heavily in Obama's favor.
 :worship:   :thrilled:
-
I'm very surprised about Virginia. That state is usally Replublican leaning.
-
Where in god's name are you guys getting this info?
All of the polls I've seen show that PA is still processing.
-
NBC called it.

I hope McCain wins Michigan, but it is a Democratic state. Arkansas polls end in about 3 mins!

Florida is 53% to 45% in favor of Obama.

Why are you happy McCain is winning in VA? I thought you wanted Obama
-
Yea some networks aren't calling PA just yet to be on the safe side
Personally, being from PA, I'd say it's safe to call. I know very few McCain supporters. And, PA hasn't been a red state in some time now, and I don't think McCain is a color changer for this state. Thank the Lord!
-
Big congressional election news: Elizabeth Dole was defeated.
-
Yeah, I was that

-
While only a small percentage of Philadelphia county is reporting (2%), its 66% Obama 33% McCain. Interesting to see if it holds this way.
-
Yay! McCain is getting Michigan! (I think, according to Fox news) :twothumbs:
-
Obamas lead in Florida has gotten smaller. 51-48.
-
Popular Vote Update:

-
New Mexico- Obama
Beat ya to it! :P
-
Schieffer is really pushing that Obama will indeed be the next President. Within the last 20 minutes, every time I flip to CBS, I hear him stating such an opinion.
-
He may be right, but you'd think a newsman would know to keep his opinion to himself..or at least not to shout it out in celebration every 5 minutes. Especially someone with Scheiffer's experience.
In other local election news, a huge part of Maryland's election has been centered around Question 2, which is whether or not to pass slots. I was in favor. So far the slots bill will pass.
-
On a lighter note - Brian Williams just compared NBC's virtual set to TWC's HD set.

West Virginia-McCain
No real surprise here.

lol, nice to see we are watching the same coverage.
-
LOl, yeah I heard that too. Couldn't help but chuckle. :D
-
CNN reporters are having a very difficult time getting McCain to victory - even giving him all the remaining states (including OH, FL, VA), EXCEPT CA, WA, OR (which will undoubtedly go to Obama).
-
Brian Williams remarked a little while ago that he spoke to a McCain advisor who told him that McCain "needed a miracle" to win at this point.

When McCain was leading (briefly in the beginning): Dow 30 Fut down 59.
With Obama leading: Dow 30 Fut up 19.

McCain: Texas.

I doubt "to the moon". Up maybe 400, maybe. The market seems to have priced in an Obama victory.
-
By "hits the moon" I meant that it'll rocket up substantially. 400 is a pretty substantial rise.
'Twas a figure of speech.
-
McCain has won Mississippi.
Obama McCain
200 130
-
By "hits the moon" I meant that it'll rocket up substantially. 400 is a pretty substantial rise.
LOL, I was expecting "hit the moon" like the 700+ or 900+ moves from earlier.
1100 is a circuit breaker...wonder if we hit it...

KDKA Alert: CBS News projects Barack Obama has enough votes to win the White House. In Allegheny County, Mr. Obama won 58%-41%. More @ KDKA.com.

McCain took Idaho.

Just so you know, I made this video. Vote no to cable!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfM4eU-2sc4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfM4eU-2sc4)
Plus I found out that Aaron Shock, (a Republican canidate who had just won in my local congressional race) had used the Network Music song "Windows" in one of his campaign ads recently. I don't have video of it, but they featured this same exact Network Music song that was featured in TWC's July 1993 music playlist.

So glad Obama won! Hopefully he'll come up with a good plan on education and healthcare.

I'm glad he won, too!!!

-
You got that right  :rofl2:
-
So someone please explain to me why people don't like Obama (other than wealthy people).
-
They don't like him because he's black and inexperienced. I've heard people say this in my school more times than I count. Who the hell cares if he's black? He's gonna come up with a plan to stabilize the economy. He'll lower our taxes, focus on education, and come up with a cheap healthcare plan for all of us.
-
1. Racist.
2. What the hell kind of experience did Bush have? He was elected twice!
-
My teacher said something like this too. She was pissed when everyone kept favoring Obama because of his race. She said she thought the whites would think Obama would be a disaster while the blacks think Obama will a godsend for the African-American population. She said it's not that, we're electing him because he's going to help out and fix our ailing economy. She said whoever voted for Obama because of his skin color, ought to not vote. And boy it makes me sick when people even in this day and age, judge someone because of their race. Unfortunately, it's not happening in the US, it's also worldwide. People should understand that there are more important issues in the world besides someone's race. Everyone is supposed to be equal and tolerant of each other.
The biosphere is collapsing. Glaciers are melting at unimaginable rates. More and more rare species are dying daily. The economy is plummeting, unemployment rates are skyrocketing. These issues are more important then a president's race. Sheesh, can't people be equal with each other these days and focus on something else more worthy!
-

I Agree 100% Vic! I can't stand people judging other people based on their race <_<... Were all human beings! Whats the difference?! Everyone has to be bias because they have this urge to judge someone else on their skin color when there are other things to worry about..
