Read Story Here (http://www.parentdish.com/2009/08/26/authorties-try-to-prevent-girl-13-from-solo-sail-around-the-wo/?icid=main|main|dl2|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.parentdish.com%2F2009%2F08%2F26%2Fauthorties-try-to-prevent-girl-13-from-solo-sail-around-the-wo%2F)
So apparently, this 13-year-old dutch girl wants to beat Zach Sunderland's (the record holder from California) record for being the youngest person to sail all around the world. Dutch Authorities are denying this to happen because of safety, but her parents are supporting this decision.
I'm afraid I will have to stand by with the authorities' decision. I mean, she's 13. She's too young to go out on an extreme adventure on her own! If her parents have gone with her on this then that would be okay, but alone on the ocean where there are pirates, sharks, hurricanes, etc. is extremely dangerous.

I also agree with the authorities on this one, but you gotta give her respect for her bravery. I'm 13 and I know would never, ever do that by myself! How old was Zach Sunderland?

He was 17 when he made the record.

Sheesh. Slow news day i guess. Crazy for anyone that young to attempt that. 17 i think would be the youngest i would allow

Even 17 is too young, IMO.
