Since General Electric (the parent of NBC Universial) bought out TWC, will they finaly go to free over-the-air broadcast?
-
That's not how TV works.
-
WTF is with all of these buyouts. I'm so freakin' confused.
-
GE did not buy anything out. NBC Universal, and two investment firms did the buying out.
-
yea TWC is not going OTA. Only chance is WeatherScan going on a digital subchannel
-
TWC going broadcast would cause sooooo many problems because then they'd have to figure out a way to do the STARs and such because then they'd have to get rid of the cable version of TWC.
-
But it would be nice to have TWC on free broadcast.

I'm mainly opposed to it because you'd lose the more localized STAR forecasts.... but I'm for it because then we'd get..... TWC HD! lol... so I'm at a standstill... lol
-
It still isn't even a feasible possibility. :\
-
Its too costly. I dont know why the idea is even up for discussion. NBC doesnt broadcast all its channels OTA, (MSNBC ect.) Anyway there would be no problem cuing a star if there ever was the case. I know of no channels on OTA that broadcast one type of genre 24 hrs
-
But cable rates are skyrocketing! I still think TWC should go to broadcast on the NBC affilates.
-
It's not possible. Do you know how much money TWC could lose by going OTA? Maybe you don't realize this, but cable companies PAY to carry TWC.
-
TWC is OTA in the Duluth, MN area. found this on wikipedia. (doubt its reliable though)
-
I can guarantee you that it is inaccurate. If it really is on OTA there, then it probably isn't supposed to be.
