Title: TWC is now regretting being owned by NBC???
Post by: Anistorm on July 10, 2009, 03:54:31 PM
The Weather Channel's Facebook Status:

"I really miss the days when TWC was owned by Landmark Communications"

WOW. Once I read this I was shocked! This is an actual status from TWC's FB page. There are some feedback to that. I don't know who was the one that post it and this person that made the status is posting with other users as well...

Opinions?

So am I. I can't wait for TWC to drop ratings even more..one of the reason why they had to bring WUWA.

I read the overview and it said TWC is seen in 98 million homes in the US, I thought they used to have like 120 million viewers a few months ago. Have they dropped that much in ratings? (not that I'm surprised)

This is stupid. Why can't they let people voice their opinion? They need to have ears and listen to us fans here.

Exactly, we have freedom of speech ya know.

I compared the two pages and the page I posted has almost 10,000 fans. The one Mike posted has about 2,000.  The page I posted seem to have so much negative feedback about NBC.

No.

Cable homes ≠ cable viewers.

TWC is one of several cable channels about to break the 100 million cable homes mark; because homes tend to have more than one occupant, that can translate into more viewers than homes.

if u thought NBC U was bad, image if Viacom would have bought the Weather Channel instead. we would be forced to see crappy non-weather programming on there like CMT/VH1/MTV would show non-music programming or TV Land/Nick at Nite showing non-classic TV shows.

I think NBC was the worst choice IMO. I am hard pressed to find a worst company

NBC doesn't believe in free speech. They're in bed with the Obama administration. Which is why they ridicule anyone that speaks out against the president. I'm absolutely disgusted by it. :nono:

Nope. If Rupert Murdoch and News Corp. got a hold of TWC, I can see things being 100x worse.

What they needed was a company that isn't political (like Landmark was).
