Title: TWC Broadcasting in Mono??

Why does TWC broadcast in mono and not stereo like most other stations?  :wacko:

Subcarrier takes up one side of the audio track.

Edit: You should be getting the one channel of audio, on both audio channels on your end.. The STAR should EQ the audio... The only way to test it would be when the STAR does a local local forecast and plays its own music, which is stereo. If you hear that its not stereo its something at your headend, your setup, or TWC just stopped EQ-ing the audio.

TWC HD doesn't broadcast in mono where I am.

Heres where you all went wrong... 1) Victor simple asked why TWC broadcasts in Mono, not TWC HD.

HD is a completly different video carrier technology. You cant even have a subcarrier on an HD channel because HD is usually a mix minus feed, and due to the size and compression of the MPEG Video. It's possible that the HD feed is 100% communicating via VBI, and there is no subcarrier required (for old STARs) just the VBI lines on the top or side of the image.
