I do think TWC botched up the HD feed for satellite viewers anyway. When did they become a big fan for windowed maps? The more space you have for maps, the better.

It's just as annoying as that "RIGHT NOW WEATHER" window seen when Jim Cantore uses skytracker. It makes the font on the lesser known cities tiny and blurry to read. I miss the old days of him operating it at the desk, red mouse and all.

the IS black bar IS Opaque. The XL's old bar had about 20-30% opacity. Gary, you're thinking of the opposite definition of Opaque.

I was confused, but that only adds to my point. Most of us have complained at one time or another about hating the LDL because it basically takes away a third of the screen. Most of us have said (myself included) that we're partial to the clear bar the 4000 had, or else none at all.

The horrible audio was finally fixed at some point this afternoon; it was an issue during Day Planner but not during PM Edition.

What I disliked about the XL's translucent LDL (as well as the ones in the previous Stars), was that it always had to turn off whenever a lower third or any other graphics displayed that would be blocked by the LDL. That always annoyed me. I was glad that they introduced an opaque LDL, along with lower thirds that don't have text that would be blocked by the LDL. The only thing I wish the current IntelliStar/XL LDL would have is a continuously displaying clock, rather than having the time and current temperature alternating.

Nice new video; finally we get an idea of what the new studio will look like. Now it's time to wonder how the various parts will be implemented.

Things got a little nuts on the HD channel from about 11:50 PM - Midnight CT. At 11:50, the screen started flickering black at regular intervals for about two minutes before finally letting up. Then, around 11:55, thin little "static" lines started jumping up the screen. Then when it came time for the 11:58 LF, the screen was black for about the first 30 seconds, then the LF flickered on, went away for another 30 seconds, and finally stayed on for the final minute of the LF. I'm surprised they didn't switch to the emergency feed amidst all of that. It seems like no one monitors the HD feed during the overnight hours.

I'm pretty sure most of us HATE the LDL.  ;)

This is why I say that they need to change it from double height to single height.  On TWC HD's satellite forecasts, there's a whole bunch of useless blue space underneath the single height area.  Those double height bars annoy me...  :furious:

I wonder what weatherscan would look like in HD also if there will be any music changes to the current playlist? or is a newer playlist in the works?
