TWC Storm Alert Mode 2011, TS Don, Forecast Compilation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BY-NQvDYbQ#)

...they're in red mode for a Tropical Storm? I thought they do those for hurricanes this time around. :noexpression:
But anyways, haven't been this hyped for red mode since ever!
lol Matt. he beat you to storm-alert thread making

I don't like how the LDL's background changes from blue to red, but the box containing the weather information is still so dark - it fits in better with the blue background.

This topic has been moved here as it didn't fit anywhere else. It has nothing to do with classic TWC, Austin, which is where you stuck it originally.
Don doesn't even deserve "red mode" in my opinion. It's actually going to be welcome rain for southern TX, not doom and gloom for what's to come.
-
they should play the storm alert music on the LF like they did with Ernesto :P

Whoops! I've been putting things in the wrong forums all day.

It probably doesn't make a difference to them. It really makes the seriousness of something like "Storm Alert" or "Red Mode" meaningless, but then again every hurricane season since 2008, heck since 2005 has been lackluster at best (when it comes to land-falling hurricanes in the lower 48s that is).

I can almost smell a ratings game on behalf on NBC here. I mean, it's only a tropical storm; not really that big of a deal compared to previous storms. Hence, I don't think a lot of people are really paying attention to it (besides those in Texas). But now that Weather Channel is now in Storm Alert mode, HO-HO - suddenly people are gonna watch the weather channel to see some much needed rain come ashore, not 100 mph winds knocking Cantore off his feet.
As for the Storm Alert music, lol. :P If they do start playing a Storm Alert theme, I will facepalm, big time.

Storm Alert on TWC because of DON? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74t-OWSAVQs#)
-
This has got to be a joke. Seriously, TWC? Don doesn't warrant this. Not at all.
EDIT: Hold on, when did you record this? The radar and watches don't match up with the current radar and advisories. Oh, nevermind. Just saw the time. :P

You have to at least equalize the show volume and the music volume. ;) Also, the freeze at the beginning of the LF is the same as in the video that you posted earlier. Also, that isn't even Storm Alert Music. This is.

That's the 2005 theme, Trevor. The one in the video is from 2008, and I don't think it's changed from that.
-
They changed back to the 2005 music as seen in the video below.
TWC Local Forecast - Storm Alert - 9/12/08 - 5:28pm (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pma7vmOBfY0#)
This is the audio that he used in his video.

They used both iirc that year. I think they used the 2006 remix version also.

Correct Tavores

Trevor wins, he figured it out first
Also... I figured someone would figure it out by the fact that I used the same video in the original post :rofl2:

Did TWC send half their team out to cover this Tropical Storm, only for it to fall completely apart as it literally crashed into the dry air?

They sent out Paul Goodloe and Jim Cantore and a NBC reporter was out there but i forgot her name.

I believe Mike Sidel was out there too?

Correct.
It's a shame that happened. I was really pulling for Texas to get some rain. But, I also thought, for the size of the storm, it wasn't necessary to have them all out there.
Also, it's nice to see Paul Goodloe out in the field.
