Don't know if you all knew this, but Stephen Arnold is on YouTube! He only has one video related to TWC so far though, so I thought I'd give you all the link. It's actually pretty interesting. He talks about how they went about making TWC's theme music. There's also a montage of all his openers.

I think I remember seeing this video a few years ago.
-
How? He's only been on YouTube a few days.
-
woah! thanks gary :thrilled:
-
He used to have it on his site back when TWC did the 2003 relaunch.
-
Very interesting! Thanks, Gary. BTW, he's put up some more videos about TWC. :thrilled:
-
Nice find Gary!
-
Your quite welcome guys! :sunglasses:
I'll have to check out those other videos matt! He must've JUST put them up because earlier today they weren't there. :twothumbs:

Yeah, SR's right. They've been on his actual website for a few years now.
But good find... nice to see he's on Myspace. He probably needs all the popularity he can get, as in the past two years, due to music fee increases, his company has lost a lot of biz, which is sad, because he produces quality stuff.

That's YouTube, not MySpace. :twothumbs:
I really don't care where the video has been BEFORE. Iwas merely pointing out that he's on YouTube NOW.

Eh. I use both to prey on little girls. Same thing, right? :P
Just kidding... I've just had this super-duper headache ALL DAY. I seriously almost bought Head On a little bit ago at Walmart, but deiced not to give into the commercials.

Since when did the 2005 Evening Edition have a Severe Weather, First Forecast, or Storm Tracker opener? I don't recall seeing these openers at all.

They were originally produced as part of the package, but I don't recall them ever being used for those segments. However, I have heard the First Forecast track used on a few occasions as a "to bed" clip, the term used for music used before commercial breaks.

i def. remember them playing the severe weather opener one, and i believe they've also used the storm tracker one too (could be wrong)...but it didn't really last long.

Since 2005. :P
Seriously though, EE never used the Severe Weather opener, but they did use a Severe Weather graphic much like that opener on a monitor (next to the expert desk) once. Also, the First Forecast opener was used at least once - I remember seeing it. Not sure about the Storm Tracker opener, though.
-
I don't think they've ever used the Storm Tracker one, but the First Forecast one has been used on occasion. (especially on weekends)

What do you mean by "music fee increases?" I thought the cost of production music was determined by the company/artist, not BMI.
-
He's not with BMI; he's actually with SESAC. Check this out:

The term is just "bed" with out to, or "bed music". Commonly used during a transition between a VTR or Camera to a bumber / graphic out.
