So, what does the back of the studio look like during EE?

That's what it looks like! (thanks to the control room sourcing the wrong camera last night)

So, what is that on the floor? There appears to be a platform for the couch (that hasn't been there since day one), but what is that yellow-lit thing? Is it a small table or something?

I wonder when they will EVER use that couch. I never seen anyone over there since the studio debuted.

I know it was there at one point, but I don't know why they removed it. It would of been useful for the Storm Session that aired in August, but instead they used chairs in front of the video wall.

All of the same sized LCD's are sourced from the same AUX bus on the switcher, so if you have a horizontal monitor with the EE logo, all other monitors of the same size will show it as well (even if their vertically mouted)

Also, the yellow light looks like a tally cue light.

There did used to be a couch.... it's in the interactive tour that's on weather.com as the interview area...

I remember seeing the couch behind the OCMs as well. You could barely see it though.

@Kyle: You think it's a tally light? It looks like some type of furniture to me; you can even see it lit behind the OCMs when the desk is rotated that way; it seems to be lit at all times.

@Mike: You actually saw the couch behind the OCMs? I thought that was just the shape of the back wall there (which can sometimes look like a seat). I know we did see the couch positioned there when they were showing off the set on YWT, and it's kinda sad that nothing ever came of it. Has the idea just been scrapped outright?

Okay, yeah, that yellow light is indeed the table that was meant to serve as the centerpiece for the couch. It appears that the table and the platform it sits on have also been moved a little since it was first set up. So, are the table and the platform just going to sit there, or maybe we'll see the couch get moved in there for an interview someday. I guess time will tell. Heck, maybe they'll decided to tape Forecast Earth studio shows there. I can definitely see that working.

I never knew the floor also lit up there based on the pillar colors. (orange, light blue, dark blue) Interesting.

Wow, that's a nice shot! I really wish Weekend View would broadcast from there.

Is that sunset image a static image, or are they monitors?
