Suspicion that we're watching a full controlled EEWC
« on: April 24, 2008, 12:32:59 AM »
Something just seems different about the production tonight, and what really seems to be hinting toward a full controlled broadcast is the usage of the EE-specific live bug at the top of the hour, which was quickly removed. Nevertheless, over the past 11 months of the current Master show production format, not once have they proven the ability to use show-specific live bugs. Master Controlled PME weekend and live editions of EEWC have always utilized the regular blue live bug.

Also, for the top of the hour teasers, they used the one-line lower thirds that "erase" the text and type out a new line when the headline changes between videos. Master has never proven the ability to use that type of L3, either. Master always generates a new lower third for each headline. Also, the fluidity of transitions and usage of music (especially at the top and bottom of the hour) is something that would normally be seen in full controlled productions only. Either Master has stepped up the game in a big way, or this is a full controlled production tonight.

Random note: at the top of this hour, they generated a lower third in the middle of the screen and at like 25% scale. I've never seen that before.

Also, they opened the hour with the same production music that begins most regular editions of EE.

If the Lower Thirds did the wipe / erase and redraw its from the control room. I know for a fact that master control switcher can't do that. :P

BTW: For future reference, you can post things like this in the General TWC Discussion.

Well, recently (since June 2007) master controlled shows on TWC have been using lower thirds that animate in, fade in and fade out.

Also, Weather Center today appears to be full controlled. They're using the PME Live tag, and pretty much all lower thirds are animating in, and the bottom text of the lowerthirds are partially cutoff by the LDL, something that has been recently happening on only full controlled shows.

i wonder if they may be using master control for HD Rehearsals?
