Health Maps
« on: February 22, 2008, 10:59:07 AM »
Does anyone remember the days when TWC use to frequently show the pollen index and other health maps? I remember seeing it all the time during the LifeStyles segment. I found them useful since I get allergies and head colds a lot during the spring. I haven't seen them do this since around 2003. Apparently now TWC thinks the weather forecast is the only thing that's important.

Yeah I remember those. I don't understand why they stopped showing those things. All are very important, and all are affected by (or are an effect of) the weather.

Yeah I remember that segment. Why did they stop it? I'm sure it was useful

They still show these maps occasionally, but not on a regular basis like they once did.

They just showed the influenza map, which BTW had every state highlighted in pink (widespread), except for Florida.

Yep I do believe the flu season is currently at peak. Hopefully we'll begin to see it lighten up from here.

I was wondering what was wrong with you over the last few days. You had been making hints it seemed at the fact that you were ill. I got that you had a fever and headache, but I couldn't really draw a conclusion from that alone.  :P

Are you talking about when they do that three-split box with a health map in the big window, and the other two windows show what's coming up next? That's done only during Day Planner, BTW.

Yes. They use to show it during AO before it was discointunied. Also the maps have the ad sponsor's logo in top right

Back before the 2003 relaunch, I use to see them a lot during the early evening hours of Weather Center.

They also used to do that on Weather Center before the September 2006 schedule change.
