Al Roker is on NBC's coverage of the US Open and he keeps saying how the rain is going to pick up within the next hour. The funny part is that the radar picture shows the rain continuously breaking up and decreasing in intensity as it moves towards the golf course. It's really obvious, yellow and reds rapidly decreasing to greens. But Al's "forecast" remains the same, for the rain to turn to heavier thunderstorms within the next hour. The funniest part is that Johnny Miller, NBC's lead golf analyst, just called him out on it and said he gave Roker "a bogey for that forecast" since he sees that all the yellows and reds are disappearing.
I know Roker doesn't have to do much meteorology at all, but you'd think he'd at least be able to read a radar loop?? It's really elementary.
