I just checked my Zap2It guide for the heck of it, and apparently Epic Conditions and WeatherVentures returns to the long-form block starting Monday, May 4th. Do they have another special week planned, or might TWC just be switching things up because FFN and ICHT is getting old?

Again:  rerun-abusing non-HD content when you have HD content sitting on the shelf can't be a good thing.  They could easily do:

Storm Stories @ 2
ICHT/FFN @ 2:30
WeatherVentures @ 3
Epic Conditions @ 3:30

...and everything wins.

Well, the even sillier part is that when these shows air on May 4th, apparently the second hour will be the exact same as the first. I guess they're acknowledging the fact that people don't stay tuned to TWC for very long at a time.

Most likely not. I don't recall any new episodes of Weather Ventures premiering since at the latest early 2008. It also has not been a regular series (on at scheduled times daily or weekly) for most of 2008 and through 2009 thus far.

It's for Great Escapes Week, which is scheduled to air the week of May 3-9.

BTW, why do they very seldom play the music to the openers for any of the shows other than YWT, PM Edition, and Weather Center? Instead, they just play production music over it.

No, they're all gonna be rehashed old episodes.

As for the openers, it's a shame. The DP theme is pretty much dead and never used now; same goes for Weekend Now.

I had my first case of insomnia this year, and TWC was the only channel that had something on. I was upset that First Outlook recycled the YWT segment cues, and did away with the theme music.

I think he's talking about the FO segment openers; they use (and always have, actually)  the YWT music.
