I think it's cool. It's pretty unique. They should do one when hurricane season comes.

Me neither. It doesn't look like an "HD" title bar.

All the current (and defunct 2008) TWC programming shows (FO, YWT, DP, WC, PME, EE, WO, WV, WN) all have updated logo images so that the articles can be better represented. Images courtesy of Spring Rubber, Billy, Stephen, and myself.

Apparently, a new LOT8's intro was released just this morning. It is great video of hail coming down in what looks like a farm yard.

They're really taking this outbreak seriously (as they should be). They're on a Storm Alert-like schedule. They started to play ICHT at 2 PM ET, then they quickly cut away with continued coverage bringing in Dr. Forbes. After ten minutes, they went back to ICHT. Then at 2:30 PM, they went preempted ICHT again and continuing to go live. Strangely they're still using the long-form program schedule with one-minute LFs at :29 and :59, and using the L-bar for the other LFs.
That way Master doesn't have a proverbial cow and have to throw the scheduling out the window.  It just works.

Today, they've been using these new titlebars for the Severe Weather forecast graphics:

Not bad, but I hope this isn't a sign that they will be using 50 different title bars like they did in 2006-08.

Is this new side-bar thing on all the time now, and will is possibly replace the LDL? :dunno:

(This could be an outrageous statement...sorry if it is.)

No, AFAIK it won't replace the LDL, right now its just for HD viewers, and an HD LDL is in the works.

My concern is, is TWC HD no longer in widescreen? It can't be with that sidebar in the way.

Why? Did something happen to the cameras?
