For some reason, there was a YWT promo aired before the top of the hour bumper.

EDIT: They also managed to air the entire EE track (the one associated with the opener) in the background; they never did fade it out until it finished.

At 8:20 AM ET, they played a production track that was often used on Weekend View 2005-2008.

What a dumb way to start Evening Edition at 8 ET. <_< With EE music, they used the "Why I Love Winter Opener" and didn't even show the regular EE opener. So if I didn't know any better, I could have thought that "Why I Love Winter" was actually on.

I think they use the 8pm EE hour very.... "loosely"... I think they use this to screw around with stuff or something... i.e. wrong lower third, wrong music package, etc... They need to really pick something to put at 8pm... if they want it to be EE, then make it really EE and put the amazing effort into making it EE. If they want to to be A&B, then put forth 100% effort into making it A&B... They've been slipping a lot lately... Especially with the 8pm hour and EEWC...

They're usually pretty good with the 8 PM ET hour, but some nights they do slip up, usually by still having the lower thirds light blue.

I'm kind of surprised that this hour of EE is being done by Steph and Carl instead of Paul and Alexandra. I wonder if the repeat of WWCH will be preempted or not...

Man, they've picked the wrong week to air Why I Love Winter week. :P This the second (and hopefully last) day this week they've preempted programming.

Tonight was a pretty fun night on Abrams & Berg in preparation for Steph's Groundhog Day trip to Punxsutawney. They interviewed Steph's field producer from Steph's last trip out there in 2004, and at the end of the show, Steph, Adam, and Paul were all wearing their black top hats. :P

Why does it seem the OCM's act a lot more serious while talking in a pre-recorded teaser than doing a live teaser?

Interestingly, they put together a recorded top-of-the-hour teaser for EE Weekend. I haven't seen that done in a while. And of course, instead of letting the opener transition out like normal, they just faded in to the studio before the transition occurred. <_<

They're also using the afternoon lower thirds so far on the show.
