Not surprising at all, if you're trying to get high-visibility. Marketing 101, people...
I don't mind the random backgrounds the IS/IS2 has. Its just that every time I hear "Green is Universal", I always think of NBC/Comcast being an non-environmentally friendly company. Big corporations always tend to be non-environmentally friendly.
Classic TWC, Weatherscan, legacy WeatherSTARs, and classic Prevue/TV Guide fan.

The green logo was only used for one day this year.

The Weather Channel free app has been updated. I don't like how there is no menu to directly access sections.
Now you have to swipe down to other sections of the app and then swipe up to go back.

How come when sometimes TWC is covering severe t-storms with tornadoes (like what's happening right now on the east coast) they don't activate Storm Alert mode?  :dunno:

Good question. I don't get it either what determines when they turn the storm mode graphics on.
If they are on all day to cover storms you would believe they would turn the storm graphics on.

TWC is running a video today with Mike Bettes talking about the changes they are making to their storm chasing to be safer during storms.

One thing I find interesting is they mention they are in "storm mode" or even yesterday they said "we have gone all red", and they use the black and red graphics in the background, yet they don't change the graphics on screen to the black and red.

This minor glitch, well I guess it's a glitch kinda annoys me. When a weather bulletin is being shown on the LDL, I noticed that it cuts off what the specific weather bulletin is and starts with the word "in". So basically it wipes in incorrectly, then a second or two later it reanimates back in correctly.

ex of the first time: "in effect from Monday evening to Wednesday evening."

ex of the second time: "A Flood Watch is in effect from Monday evening to Wednesday evening."

Again, it's minor, but it still annoys me because you would think it would have been fixed by now. It's been doing this since the rebranding last year.

TWC is now streaming live coverage. For some reason the lower thirds and "breaking now" graphic are not on the live stream feed. Maybe they are just broadcasting the output and not the viz with the scrolling ticker?

The old graphic the used to be on screen when the LDL was off was on the YouTube live stream till around 7pm.

This is on the YouTube live feed during LOT8's and commercials.

they should just have a 24/7 livestream like WeatherNation. it would make alot of sense for people who don't have access to TWC on TV.

Storm Alert officially ended at 7 PM, after many graphical glitches between the red and blue graphics..

TWC still live at 11pm ET and using storm mode music.  Wonder why they switched out of the storm mode graphics?
