Maybe I'm the dumbass here, but I really don't get the point of the whole tornado room thing. I guess I have to take half credit for not knowing because I haven't been trying hard to know what the point of it is.

Today was the first time I actually paid attention to it for more than 2 seconds. I give em credit for wanting to make their Tornado Week entertaining and informative at the same time, but it seems like they're going at it the wrong way. It looks really cheesy and goofy. I can say with 100% certainty TWC couldn't pay me enough money in my contract to do some of the silly things they're doing right now.

Is the use of the "North East" Day Planner animation rare or the use of the animated intros in general?
They also used the South and West animated intro graphics going into those forecast segments.

Yes, those animated regional transitions are very rarely used these days. They were part of the original DP package from 2008.

It keep getting funnier....and then I lost it when they did the time and temperature. 
That was so unexpected!

Yeah, I am not sure they knew what happened to Jeanetta.  If they did, I am not sure they would have done that with the character.  It was funny, though.

The skit was funny except for the reference SNL used to Jeanetta Jones who suffered a horrific car accident in 2006 which ended her career at TWC.  SNL could have selected another character like "Hether" Tesh to spoof another former OCM at TWC; Heather Tesch.

The regional intros are being used for weekend now.


They are also using the Weekend Now transition. Has that always been used or did they bring it back this weekend?

Weekend Now has its own set of regional transitions; they shouldn't be using Day Planner's.

Although I don't watch WN often, I have to assume the WN transitions are used quite frequently. I know DP uses its transitions quite often.
