Another reason the OCMs should be wearing their suit jackets.
A white shirt and bright studio lights is not a good thing.

Does this mean that more construction is being done in the normal studio?

My guess is they are working on the green screen in the HD studio.
I've noticed even when they are in the HD studio this week the angle of the OCMs standing and the lighting at the green screen is different from the green screen in the HD studio.
They have another green screen by the digital media center studio I'm guessing they are using.

Not digging the no jacket look.  It's definitely more professional to wear a jacket.

TWC obviously LOVED them some Trammell  back during the 1996 Blizzard. They played "Evening/Pier 32" at the end of one of their live segment in this video. (10:55) It was kinda weird hearing it being played as bumper music.

I always called it the "Blizzard of 1996 Song" as I had no idea about the actual titles until meeting all of you.  That video explains my thought process perfectly. :P

Has anyone seen TWC's new interactive weather map on weather.com? I like it! It provides a lot more options than the old boring one. I'm not sure about the water temperature map, don't think it's that accurate.

Long Island, August-September 2012 tornadoes, Hurricane Sandy, Blizzard of 2013, how many places on Earth do you know can get all 3 of those events within a 6 month period?

I don't like it.  It loads very slowly for me, and like everything else on their site, there's too much junk/clutter on the screen.  Maybe it will just some time getting used to...

EDIT: One thing I do notice, however, is that there seems to be additional colors for stronger storms that most radars use.  For example, with the storms currently over northwestern Texas, I don't remember them using that many shades of pink before on their old maps.  So I like that new upgrade.

We're pre-empting all taped programs on Sat to cover severe weather/possible tornadoes. Live coverage starts at 8 AM ET from OKC.

Does anyone know if Warren Madden and Ryan Goswick still freelance at TWC? And if so, how long has it been since they've been on air?

I find it incredibly unprofessional and very distracting when meteorologists or news anchors in general do their segments holding and waving stacks of papers in their hands.... It's very tacky. See example attached.

That seems to be the trend everywhere these days.  Sitting down at a desk with neat stacks of paper is "old-fashioned" and "stuffy," while walking around, standing, gesticulating... that's "fresh" and "active."  :dunno:

There's a reason they have papers... it's called a teleprompter. They don't always work, trust me! It went out on me one time in the middle of a newscast for over 5 minutes. It wasn't pretty.
