During the forecast segments on Isaac they spam the screen promoting Twitter and text message alerts.
It's very distracting and annoying and takes away space.

I hope I'm not the only one, but that is really weird and exciting at the same time. Definitely going to make sure to tune in the next few days. It's not odd from a stand point of covering weather, but from a 'political' stand point... It seems a bit awkward. 

What do you mean? Are you saying that because they didn't send him on assignment to Tampa?

EDIT: I wonder where they'll send Jim and when?

I'm pretty sure he means it's because typically reporters are not allowed in to the country to do reporting, especially live, from Cuba. Everything they do is monitored carefully by their government. From their words to their actions, anything can be shut down at any time and they can be forced out of the country, or arrested, for saying the wrong thing. It is not like America with freedom of press.

It seems TWC is planning to be live to 3am or later for the next 5 days.

Maria LaRosa will be in Key West, FL alongside Stephanie Abrams later on this afternoon. Maria is an interesting choice, I think this will be her first tropical storm/hurricane she's covered out in the field in the 2 years she's been at TWC.

EDIT: Also looks like TWC will literally be going live 24/7 up until late next week according to Jen.

Apparently so, this could end up being the longest they are consecutively live on air in quite some years if you start from this past Thursday.

Seeing Dr. Rick Knabb on TWC a lot these past few day's. I'm glad they have him on and that he and his team at the NHC are explaining their changes to the forecast live on air. It's much like a family reunion it seems.

The last time they were like this all 24/7 live was during Ike or Gustav coverage...I'm pretty sure it was Ike back in September 2008
