Yeah I'd like to know who decides that storms are important enough to extend coverage 5pm to 7pm and then for 8pm they decide it's not important and go back to regular programming.

UPDATE: Crew needs to take a quick dinner break...we'll probably go back live during the 9pmEDT hour! I will also have cut-ins every half hour (usually around :15 and :50 after!)"

"Kelly Cass

Alot of us brought dinner tonight...good thing cuz we're not going anywhere! We're on standby!"

Reruns at 9pm.

Is anyone else annoyed with the non weather travel segments added to last week TWC?
Why do we need segments on friends, families and couples traveling?
They have nothing to do with weather.
This is one of them airing on every broadcast,
http://www.weather.com/travel/hit-the-road/main

The segment is airing because of a deal between TWC, Toyota and Allstate
Press Release: http://press.weather.com/press_detail.asp?id=401

I don't think its a bad segment. Ive found them interesting

When did TWC begin the false advertising that they are Severe Storm Central? http://goput.it/auq.jpg

That is such a joke. TWC has ignored countless severe storms with tornadoes over the years.
Hakeem: What's up, Jetsons!
Frank Mitchell: Jetsons?
Hakeem: Yeah, you and George got the same haircut.

I think "Longform Programming Central" would be a more appropriate title. <_<

Ditto or better yet, "Contradiction Central" since they love to do that too. I remember Crystal Egger saying and I quote, well paraphrase, "We have extended our coverage of WCL to cover the severe weather and we will stay on for as long as we need to to cover the storms." Hmm, I didn't know the storms took a nap from 8-9:30pm before waking up and getting busy to wrecking havoc.

Heather's hair color here: Is this because of bad lighting? It looks pink/reddish, but the rest of her body doesn't look like it's discolored.

OT: I will never understand how women can walk around in heels like Heather is wearing in that picture.

LOL, my mom was flipping channels and commented on her heels. She was like "She's walking around on pegs!" :rofl2:

In the case of The Weather Channel these days, leg-revealing skirts and very high heels seem to be a requirement of the job now, so it seems like Heather has a choice: walk around in these shoes or find another job.

For months now when they stand in certain areas of the green screen they get that ugly purple reflection on their faces.
Not sure why they can't adjust the lighting to correct it.
I'm guessing the color is coming from the lighted color walls.

The term "central" has actually been used since 2005... although in the past year or so they've really worn it down.

I agree that it's being way overused.  They need to start creating more original names.
