Yes, Warren's other job is hurricane hunter with the Air Force Reserve.

Warren Madden earned a degree in computer science from MIT while on an Air Force ROTC scholarship. He convinced the Air Force to send him to Penn State to earn a bachelor's degree in meteorology, after which he worked in Dayton, Ohio, as an Air Force meteorologist. Later he took a position as weekend meteorologist at WHIO-TV in Dayton and earned a master's degree in computer science from Wright State University. He joined the national media in 1996 as a meteorologist for the Weather Channel. In 1998, he joined the Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters as a weather officer and is an instructor with the squadron, recently working with Lockheed Martin to write the software used on board the WC-130 aircraft. This seems to be the trend with the 1am ET WCL to.
If one of the regular OCMs is off or filling in on the earlier WCL shows then it's just one OCM at 1am ET.

I imagine we'll hear everything about Beryl for the next several days, but I hope it doesn't go overboard as Beryl is not expected to become more than a tropical storm.

This reminds me in 2006 how they went crazy over Beryl, and what was funny was that it formed around the same area as this year's Beryl.

Maybe they'll go into "Storm Alert" for Beryl like they did with Alberto/Ernesto in 2006.  After all, they are using the same name rotation this year.

I think TWC definitely "goes overboard" when a system is near the U.S. and makes landfall, even if it is a weak system.  This obviously makes sense, but I won't be surprised if we hear more about Beryl than other storms from last year, just because it looks like it will impact the U.S. this time (finally).

Yes, but you could get way more than what the doctor ordered here with all this rain.  Flooding should be TWC's major headline here.

I kinda agree with what  I heard Dr. Knabb say earlier, Beryl doesn't seem like it'll be a big rainmaker right about now unfortunately.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that during WCL (7pm onward) will have extended coverage. (Limited LFs; squeezeback on all LFs except the ones at 28/58 past.) Maybe even go commercial free for a brief time period when Beryl makes landfall.
