Heading into hour #4 now - continuing coverage on TWC of severe weather (possible tornadoes) in MN, IL, IN, OH, KY & NC! Be safe everyone...it's gonna be a long night!"

They are done with storm coverage at 8pm and not back till 10pm ET. This is getting embarrassing.
If there are tornadoes on the ground they should provide live coverage.

What "continuing coverage" and hour #4 is she talking about?!?!   Right now, Turbine Cowboys is on, and I surprisingly saw the tail end of Weather Caught on Camera at 7:58 CT, which is odd because weather.com advertises that WCL was supposed to be on then.

They must have preempted at 5 and 6 PM for storm coverage.. if you're gonna preempt those two hours, then preempt all night for petes sake

They can't, they have multiple overdue electric bills to pay. Why do you think the lighting is not always that great in the studio sometimes? They count on these shows to get them by.

Yeah, perhaps you are right. They are also sending a message to no longer rely on them for severe weather coverage exclusively, but rather look at local TV, radio, Internet, mobile phones, etc. They will only preempt when they feel like it. The Weather Channel is no longer a channel that covers weather; it just happens to be an entertainment channel that is "weather-related."

I would have guessed they did local inserts for Intellistar units in the affected areas, but I'm under the impression that they don't do this anymore... even though the technology for such a thing exists.

For the 30-year celebration, Blake Shelton said in a little clip that everyone hates the elevator music on the local forecasts. It looks like TWC took him seriously. 

Is there even a topic for the 30 year celebration? I could not find one.

They should've put Trammell Starks on there LFs that day or other memorable classics likeee Chris Camozzi's "my dancing heart" Or George Winston's longing love. Oh and Ryan Farish songs too! Heck I woulda done that if I was in charge of that stuff
