I was expecting TWC to use the studio at 4pm since it seems the work is done on the new video wall.
Instead they are using the expert desk and control room.

I hope this is not a permanent change because it would be stupid to update the video wall in the studio and then not use the studio for Weather Center Live.

This new Weather Center Live format for 4pm. 7pm and 10pm of limited forecasts segments, not using the green screen and doing just about everything from the expert desk is not good.
Please go back to the studio, give us more forecasts and less taped reports.

If you compare the 1am edition to the others the amount of actual weather forecast segments is more then double.

They Just used the Video wall in the last 1 min. Wow. Also the new wall one of the "tiles" went out while they were doing it.  :rofl2:

:offtopic:

I'm not liking these new weather.com icons.  I don't think I have bad eyes, but for some reason they seem so hard to see and very hard to distinguish.  Also, the moon is way too dark.  As with any set, I'm sure I'll grow used to them, but why did they have to change them in the first place???

looks like new weather.com icons went live today?

Partially.  More so than yesterday, but not all the way.  The "tomorrow" tab and "month" tab still use the old icons. :hmm:
Clear your cache.
Actually, I looked at those pages and with a cleared cache, and they do indeed still show the older icons
Weird, I'm seeing the new ones.

The new icons have also made it over to the xhtml weather.com page, except for at the top

PME is gone now. WCL took its place, but the squeezeback is using the old WC tag, which has been happening for several days now.

Oh man, no more PME?  Unfortunately, I feel like this show just kind of phased out.  Obviously it has been gone on weekdays for quite some time, and I guess this new schedule sees it gone on the weekends too.

4pm on weekends may have been changed to the Weather Center name but at least it's not using the weekday Weather Center 4pm format of almost no forecast segments, mostly expert desk segments and taped reports.

I kind of liked PME, but what's the point of having a live weather show an hour long that airs twice a week?

That's the same thing I thought when it was reduced to an hour last year.

Anyway, :welcome:

Thanks!

Also, is it just me or does it feel like Weather Center is beginning to take over a lot of the live programming slots? I know they wouldn't make it the only show (or at least probably not the only show), but it seems like they're making too much room for long form.

Weather Center Live is not using the studio again this week for 4pm, 7pm and 10pm.
Again like last week there are almost no forecast segments.
No Weekend, 7 Day, or 60: Second Forecast.
The green screen is not being used.
I just don't like this new format for WCL.

The only WCL with actual forecast segments and use of the green screen is the 1am edition.
